Re: Games completed 2016
I mean that intro alone still gets me everytime. If you like the intro, I think you'll like Left Behind. Both are short, self-contained and focus on the narrative. If you like The Last of Us that much, I think you'll really like Left Behind. For what it's worth, I thought there was too much combat ...

Re: Should I buy a 3DS?
OK thanks that's interesting, is the Switch expected to have the back-catalogue of Zelda games working on it from launch, then? My understanding is that the backwards compatibility of the system and how it will use the Virtual Console are still very much unknown. But they have said they'll give a l...

Re: Should I buy a 3DS?
Not having a go at you Joshi, as this is something I see repeated in a lot of places by a lot of people, but... Maybe it's because Nintendo and it's what people have come to expect from them, but I never really understood why the 3D screen has to be something more than just a nice visual enhancemen...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
I don't know. I used to commute by subway to work and I could only play offline games on my phone. I thought Hearthstone looked great, but I couldn't play it on my commute so I dropped it. And that was a game that obviously needed to be online. I agree Super Mario Run will make a bunch of money, but...

Yeah, I do like Yosuke, but the farther we get from 2008 the more repellant his behavior becomes in regards to the homophobic jokes he keeps throwing at Kanji. Congrats on finishing that massive game!Joshihatsumitsu wrote:Also, I found Yosuke to be a bit of a dick, especially to Kanji, who is impossible to dislike.

Re: Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards
I just think there is a healthy middle ground to be found between protecting both the well-intentioned developers who are excited about the product they're making and the trusting consumers who get excited about the product they want to buy. But that middle ground already exists. It's "Don't p...

Re: Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards
Incidentally, what did you think of the Mass Effect 3 ending? I really liked that too, so I may well be a lost cause, haha. I like the ending to Mass Effect 3. I even prefer the version before they changed it. :o The world has gone topsy turvy on me! :o Playing through the Mass Effect trilogy was p...

Thanks, I'll have a look at that (although I'm now worried it might spoil my memory of the game!) Incidentally, what did you think of the Mass Effect 3 ending? I really liked that too, so I may well be a lost cause, haha. NOOO!!!! I haven't played Uncharted 4 yet and I'm really looking forward to i...

Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
I think you two might have different ages in mind when you're talking about "kids". Chase is right that a 12 year old could pick that up without too much trouble, but Craig's point is completely correct when talking about 5 year olds. I think it's good for the industry as a whole if Pokemo...

Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
That's a really smart idea. I wonder how much work it would be to essentially create two different openings to the game.Craig wrote:That said, they should certainly have an option to let the game know it's not your first Pokémon and you know what you're doing.

Re: Sound of Play: 70
Really great podcast guys. Between an entire Cane and Rinse series on the Zelda franchise and now a whole Sound of Play episode on Persona music, I feel like we're being spoiled. Sometimes we don't say thanks enough for all of the hard work you guys put in, but it's thoroughly appreciated. Two quick...

Cool thread! I've played through Ocarina of Time many, many times and I'm planning on doing the Three Heart Challenge soon. That's where you don't pick up any heart containers or heart pieces and finish the game with only three hearts.
