Re: RE: Re: Nintendo NX

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this is the shortest gap ever between Nintendo machines and we see the NX this year. As you say the GameCube is counted by many as a failure, but that still sold 22m units. The Wii U has barely half that figure at 11m - 12m depending on the source and stands...

Re: Sound of Play: 32

Well done fellow forum friend, enjoyed your contribution a lot. Thanks for including my Lara Croft Go suggestion too. Glad you liked it. Also enjoyed the brief Tomb Raider chat that followed, given my love of the original title. Really loved that opening choice, Sonic 3 and this full version of that...

Re: RE: Re: Game of 2015

On the subject, can anyone recommend any good end of year podcast episodes? I've only listened to the C&R and Chet and Jon ones. A lot of the usual suspects haven't done one, or at least got them out yet. Giant Bomb did about 5 mammoth ones with various categories. Vice Gaming did a very quick ...

Re: RE: Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Lara Croft Go on iOS. Picked this up when it was on sale just before christmas, then thoroughly rinsed it over the holidays. A wonderful little game that does so much with so little - and a textbook example of how to do a third-person action game properly on a touchscreen device. Gorgeous flat-shad...

Re: 80 Days

Its pretty rare that a mobile game truly grabs me, but I'd happily argue that 80 Days is not just a great game on the go, but a great game in general. In theory, I love games with multiple routes of progression and story arcs but in reality, my gaming time is so limited that I'll only ever play most...

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X

How are people getting on with this now? No spoilers, don't worry... Personally, am 20 hours in. Tend to agree with something Sean Bell said on Twitter about (and I paraphrase) 'I love the game, but I've never met one before with such disdain for the player'. No wonder it scares some people of. Ther...

Game of 2015

So most of the podcasts and sites have done their lists now. Shall we discuss our personal favourites? For me, number 1 is Splatoon. Launched a bit bare but given it only cost me £25, I didn't mind and the content started coming thick and fast. Not a huge fan of shooters nor online gaming but it has...

Re: What's Out This Week?

America got Mario Galaxy and 1080 on the Virtual Console over the holidays. Wasn't sure if by the posts above Europe has too?

Hope we do here too as my copy of Galaxy got lost to a mates ex when she moved away. Wanted an excuse to rebuy it for a while.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Done a few Affinity Missions on XCX and am about 12 hours in. Its bugging me a bit. Fought this thing the other night that was 2 levels above me. Was fighting it very cleverly but it always killed me. Lo and behold, the moment my Level goes up one, I destroy it. Don't recall XC being like that... HO...

Re: Bayonetta 2

That Lumen Sage fight is amazing. Terrific opening level too. Looks so nice and the final levels are great. Also manages to tie up the plot from the original quite cleverly.

What a game... Need to replay it soon but have a long list to get through

COD: BOps2 is only £2.95 on HotDealUK for Wii U if like me, you need a swift silly FPS campaign to break up several 60 hour epics.

Some of those Curve Digital ports are insanely cheap! £1.99 for The Swapper, The Swindle, Thomas was alone, Lone Survivor, Stealth Inc 2... Will pick up the ones I don't own, thanks!

Re: Nintendo Wii U

Selfishly I'm not near my Wii U except on 28th, 29th, 30th and 1st. But if it ends up being one of those days, hope to join in! Would you bother to set up a chat room on Skype, preassign weapons / roles or just play online? Genuinely never done online multiplayer before bar some antisocial MK8 so wa...

I've merged the two Christmas gaming threads as I figured we could talk about what we're hoping to get and what we're hoping to play over the holidays in the same place. Merry Chrimbo everyone! Sorry, didn't see the other one! Personally, hoping to complete ALTTPast by the C&R podcast recording...

Re: RE: Re: Christmas gaming

I've a few weeks off without my nearest and dearest also being off so I'm looking forward to not going outside and indulging in some single player games. I have a nice set up for gaming with a Wii connected to a projector but my apartment is pretty small so it's not a permanent fixture. I'm looking...

Christmas gaming

Ah... Christmas. For me, once upon a time it meant a new game to lose hours in, dying multiple times on the final level after taking 2 hours to get there and have your Mum tell you 'That's enough Lucky Dime Caper son...' Now it revolves around being terrorised by my toddlers latest plastic toy and f...

Yeah that made me think about booting up Smash again for the first time since I bought it.

FAST Racing Neo or Splatoon night over Christmas sounds great! Or if they prove hard to muster 4 people for, there's always Mario Kart...
