Very useful tips, thanks! I will give it another go.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
As influential as RE4 ended up being in terms of camera design, most of its would-be successors didn't seem to value the rest of its design philosophy particularly highly. So I wouldn't be surprised if the game took new players by surprise nowadays. It just requires a completely different mindset t...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I think I will regretfully give up on Resident Evil 4. I'm at the guy with the claws, and it's just not that much fun to play. Ouch. Broke my heart to read that. :( I will not uninstall it just yet. I bought it in a triple pack with Resi 5 and 6, so I should probably continue. How's that for the wo...

Re: What should i play ? [ps4 edition]
The consensus on here about The Last Guardian, is that it is flawed but well worth playing. Most of the frustrations stem from the awkward controls, I think. As the game goes on it becomes more cinematic and less dependent on the controls, and is better for that. It does plenty of interesting things...

Re: What should i play ?
Also in a double pack, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, if you have been console-free for that length of time. On PS4?! If PS3 was on the table, there'd be a lot more to recommend. Doesn't seem like this is the case, however. Ah! My mistake, apologies if I got the OP's hopes up. I could have sworn I...

Re: What should i play ?
If you're in to that kind of thing, Beyond Two Souls is very good. It comes in a double pack with Heavy Rain so you have all the [insert fulsome praise/expletives as desired] bases covered there :D Also in a double pack, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, if you have been console-free for that length o...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Driveclub was really really bad, as was RIGS and the tank game but worst was the demo platformer, can't remember the name but it seemed pretty cool, quite Nintendo-y and yet every time the camera lurched forwards, I felt I was about to reject an organ. Yeah, any game where you're bouncing around do...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
You guys are making me really nervous now, as I just made a big investment in VR two days ago! :? I did spend a lot of time on a borrowed PSVR before buying my own, so I should be generally ok. There are some games that cause me motion sickness so I'll probably avoid them for the time being. The onl...

Re: Videogame Deals
Demon's Souls €5 Bayonetta €4 Yakuza 4 €6 Okami HD €4 Damn, these are some great prices for some truly exceptional games. Fantastic value for money here. They're good prices for trying out some 'lesser' games that may have been skipped over at the time too. I picked up Castlevania: Lords of Shadow ...

Re: Videogame Deals
Maybe it's often like this, but there are lots of great price drops on PSN for PS3 games: Demon's Souls €5 Dragons Dogma DA €5 Binary Domain €5 Bayonetta €4 Deadly Premonition €6 Yakuza 4 €6 Okami HD €4 Plus many more (and all the Resident Evil and Metal Gear games as per usual). No Dead Space 1 tho...

Re: Elite: Dangerous PS4 players?
I've been thinking about it this weekend and I'm still pretty tempted but we'll see. I'm sure I'll try it out at some stage. Ta.

Re: Games completed 2017
Yeah, it's been a (bugs and glitches aside) solid game. I've started on the lifeline dlc, it's a new place and looks like a good state of decay 1.5 if you get the urge to fire it up, a bit more action packed being a military base but with a day of the dead like hook i'm well invested already. My on...

Re: Games completed 2017
I loved State of Decay when it came out; it really hit the 'non-hardcore' survival/base building spot for me. I got the year one dlc but never really played it.
State of Decay 2 seems to be exactly the same as the first one, worryingly enough. I hope they expand on the first game a bit.

Re: Elite: Dangerous PS4 players?
I was very tempted to buy it last week but decided to concentrate on the backlog instead, sorry!
How is it, is it transparently grindy or is there a lot of fun to be had?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Until Dawn is a very fun game, hope you enjoy it. After humming and hah-ing for quite a while, I bought the early access Factorio on Steam yesterday evening. Looking at it today it says, 8.9 hours played. That can't be right surely, though when I looked at the clock after figuring out a pretty fiend...

Re: Games completed 2017
The Solus Project (PC) This turned out to be quite interesting. Reading back to find some old reviews, it seems the Xbox reviewers found the survival aspects quite undemanding, which was the opposite to my experience (and I had them set to 'normal') but the good news was that there is a survival dif...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I've been playing a bit of The Solus Project on PC. The earth has been destroyed by a meteor and five colony ships have been launched yada yada, and you eventually crash via escape pod on a strange planet's surface and need to get back in contact with the fleet and hopefully report on the planet's h...

Re: Games completed 2017
35MM (PC) A post-apocalyptic journey through a Russia that has lost 83% of its inhabitants to a plague of some kind. Nice environments, some terrible gunplay moments, dodgy translation, and of course lots of despair and bleakness. This review on RPS last year sold it to me - it looks amazing there ...
