Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
That's just something you can't anticipate or react to, let alone base tactical adjustments on. And every time I play this mission, something in this vein happens. Sincerely, f***k this game. I think I'm going to give up on it, as I can't recall the last time a game has infuriated me like this. I w...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Honestly, don't even bother using the camera in RE4 if it causes any problem whatsoever. It's not a dual analogue-based game.

Re: Retro gaming
It's service the community has been crying out for for some time I feel. Exactly! I think we're all long overdue for some biblical Justice. Not the Old Testament-style "lemme flood you guys real quick", but the fluffy New Testament "love thy neighbour" stuff. Win-win for everybo...

Re: Nier Automata
I have not played it myself, but I did find this guide which provides the exact requirements for all 26 endings. I've taken the liberty of copying the section focusing on the main endings, so at to minimize the risk of you accidentally running into spoilers. It looks like you will have to play the g...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Like others, this absolutely isn't for me. But even then, I do have concerns about the durability of the set. Cardboard isn't exactly the most solid and resistant material. I can easily imagine entire sets quickly being rendered useless through wear and tear, users stumbling around, pieces coming in...

Re: Official Video Game Guides & Art Books
I got the Zelda; Art and Artifacts book for Christmas from my Mum and it is a stunner. Twice as thick as Hyrule Historia which I wasn't expecting! Only tangentially related, but as someone who is far from a hardcore Zelda fan, the incredible quality of these coffee table books is making me green wi...

Re: 310: BioShock Infinite
since what we're talking about is a black servant woman leading an uprising against a white evangelical power structure that has fetishized Americana into a religion, let's not step away from that hot-button topic and let's put it front-and-center instead. But the issue we risk of running into whil...

Re: 310: BioShock Infinite
Full disclosure: I have only played this game once and my memory might be a bit hazy. Still, it's an interesting conversation to have and one that deals with more universal topics than just the exact plot of the game, so I thought I'd chime in. They switch timelines into an all-out rebellion from th...

Re: Our Patreon
I do plan on donating regularly, but I don't mind if the week early bonus stays Patreon-only. How would it even work? There would be no way of knowing from your side whether any given donation is a one-off or not. Probably for the best to keep it simple and manageable. It just opens the floodgates i...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III
Incidentally, where does this game fit in the Dark Souls time line? I'd assumed it was after, but then the inclusion of the onion Knight (who should be dead?) made me think twice. First, keep in mind that "Time in Lordran is convoluted", so there may not be a clear-cut Dark Souls timeline...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III
I don't remember it being that complicated... Can't you just step on the lift to make it go up, but jump off of it immediately and take the lower lift that arrives afterwards?
