Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I totally unexpectedly got a PS5 for Christmas with Spiderman 2 and EAFC 24. I've not made a proper start on Spidey yet (although the kids have finished it!) but been replaying 2018's God Of War. I forgot how satisfying and weighty the combat was in that game. That axe lands with a heft that you do...

Re: Games Completed 2024
Jan 4th - Shadow of the Tomb Raider (PS5) As I said in the BPP Discord to you, I had the game breaking bug near the end. But I would agree with you that despite that bug, this was my favourite of the reboot series. It did feel like it was the one most like the original games. I thought some of the ...

Re: Games Completed 2024
1. Super Mario Wonder Simply put, one of the best 2D platformers I've ever played and definitely my favourite 2D Mario game. From start to finish every level was a delight to play. The wonder seeds add some great spice to levels and the new abilities were mostly great (there was only really the bub...

Re: 2023 Top Ten
I usually pick up games a while after they're released, so I haven't actually finished any 2023 games yet. I am playing Final Fantasy XVI and Super Mario Bros Wonder at the moment though. 2023 was a very slow year for me anyway, i only finished 19 games, compared to my 25-35 norm, and that included...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Oppenheimer If I’m honest it didn’t really click with me, not by any stretch saying it’s bad as it’s definitely more me than the film but I just found it hard to keep up with over its mammoth running time. It was worth it for the Trident Test explosion scene though. I think it was perhaps just a bi...

Re: 2023 Top Ten
I should be getting Super Mario Wonder for Christmas which I suspect will break into my top 10, but right now my top 10 would be as follows: 9 Pikmin 4 8 Hi Fi Rush 7 The Crew Motorfest 6 F1 23 5 Cocoon 4 Spider-Man 2 3 Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom 3 Super Mario Wonder 2 Dead Space 1 Residen...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Over the weekend I watched the final 2 David Fincher movies I hadn't seen in Zodiac and Panic Room. Both were brilliant. Zodiac in particular just cemented to me that Fincher is at his best when doing crime/murder mystery. What with Zodiac, Seven, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Mindh...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Isn't it funny how you can get back into games? Earlier this year I put about 40 hours into Tears of the Kingdom and was a little cool on it. I was enjoying it to some extent but was having a few problems with it too so that when the next game came along I was interested in I went to play that inste...

Re: Games Completed 2023
Pikmin 4 I’m glad I played it, I found it very moreish as it has a nice gameplay loop but I think I’ve had my fill with it after 17 hours. I’m not really tempted to go back to the previous games and not even sure I’d play another, but it’s certainly unique as I would say it’s quite different to eve...

Re: Games Completed 2023
Super Mario RPG I was quite enjoying this at first but grew less fond of it the further I got into the game. It's full of charm and I loved the new art style but by the end I just felt like I was on autopilot in the battles, other than in the bosses which require some more thought. I have had a sim...

There's Dune 2 I'm looking forward to, Ferrari, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 2, the New Joker, 2 Win and if it's out next year, the Brad Pitt F1 film.

Re: Videogames to look forward to in 2024
For me it's GTA VI should it come out next year, but other than that I'm actually really excited for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice league. I thought the latest deep dive trailer was really good and a friend of mine working at Rocksteady has relieved any fears I had regarding whether it wouldn't ha...

Re: Videogame Deals
I didn't realise CD Keys did Switch games but just picked up the Crysis Trilogy for £12, considering it's £45 or something on the eShop it's a decent saving. If you can avoid the temptations of the deals I'd avoid CD Keys in the future, they get some of their keys via less than ideal sources which ...
