Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I've looked it up and seems like a very common complaint. Loading times tended to range from 25 to 60 seconds for me.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Jedi: Fallen Order Was really looking forward to trying this out, but initial impressions are pretty negative. I’m all for a game that demands a high level of skill and finesse from the player, but I expect the game to hold up its own side of the bargain and offer controls that are tight and respon...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
While I loved 3D World, Bowser's Fury left me a little cold and I didn't play very much of it. Seemed like a slightly odd mix of open world and linear gameplay. I'll have to give it another go at some point.

Re: Halo Infinite
Finished the game just before Christmas and am now going through it again on Heroic. Honestly, I kinda wish I had just gone with Heroic for the first run through - and at the rate I'm going through it I don't think a solo Legendary run is out of the question. As to my earlier point about vehicles be...

Re: Halo Infinite
The pistol tactic with Hunters was always kind of an exploit in the original. The pistol wasn't meant to be as powerful as it was, that got slipped by at the last moment by some sneaky programmer. For real? I've never heard that - always just assumed that the pistol is as powerful as it is because ...

Re: Halo Infinite
I find the regular enemies to be a bit of pushover - I generally only die when I get too cocky and push my luck, and even then it's pretty rare. Though to be fair, I've reached the point in the campaign where I've got to activate the four beacon thingies and the set piece encounters are getting a li...

Re: Halo Infinite
What difficulty are people playing on? I read a Kotaku article saying that 'Normal' in Infinite was equivalent to 'Heroic' in a regular Halo game, so I'm playing on Normal, but I've found it to be a bit of a pushover so far. Kind of regret not starting on Heroic as I originally intended.

Re: Halo Infinite
You can tell this was a troubled development Honestly, for such an allegedly troubled development (I was hearing disastrous rumours up until fairly recently) it's pretty amazing how polished the end product is. I had some initial doubts about the gameplay, but I'm a decent way into the campaign now...

Re: Halo Infinite
Anyone else finding that vehicles, much like the horses in Breath of the Wild, feel almost totally redundant because of how fast and agile the player character is?

Re: Videogame News
I'm over the moon that Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine II got announced. Wasn't expecting that! The original was a genuinely great game, and sorely underrated.

Re: Halo Infinite
I haven't made it to the open world part yet, but I'm really impressed so far. Having skipped the entire last hardware generation, it's a pretty huge jump in terms of visuals. Feels really slick. My only (very minor) gripe is that it seems a bit 'eager to please' if that makes sense? The constant sp...

That isn't surprising. The trailer makes it look like a fan film.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Honestly as big a fan as I am of the games, I can't stand the Halo 'lore'. The first game is fine, in a sort of nakedly derivative 80s sci-fi pastiche kind of way, but after that it starts to take itself overly seriously and quickly disappears up its own bum. One of my least favourite things about t...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Recently watched Run Lola Run , a movie that had been on my watchlist since it came out over twenty years ago, but I somehow never got around to. It's a little gem of a movie. Really inventive and exuberant, a perfect time capsule of late 90s Euro cool, and the short running time (well under 90 mins...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Tbh, I don't think any of the GTA games played particularly great even back in the day. They were certainly groundbreaking technically, but I would describe the way they played to be 'functional' at best. I always found the controls to be a bit loose and twitchy - the novelty and style is what made ...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Cmon Cmon. Presumably so named because that's what you'll be saying to yourself as you check your watch, waiting for it to end. In all seriousness, it's fine. Very much a naturalistic 'slice of life' type film where there isn't really a plot, so if you like that kind of thing you'll probably enjoy i...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Yeah I saw that. That's a shame. Here's hoping they do a Motorsport 8, then. Also been playing Halo: MCC - specifically the original Halo Combat Evolved. Unsurprisingly, it holds up incredibly well for now a 20(!) year old title. Aside from the labyrinthine level design and occasional wandering arou...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Forza Horizon 5 Oh. I don't like this much at all... What's with all the silly, GTA-style cutscenes and constant irritating voiceovers? Why is there a player character avatar? Isn't this a driving game? Where is the motivation to progress if I am given top-tier supercars to drive right out of the g...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
After skipping the PS4 and Xbox1 entirely (in favour of Switch) I must admit I'm kinda tempted to get a Series S. $24.99 a month for 24 months seems like a pretty incredible deal given that it includes Game Pass.... I'm very out of the loop with the modern AAA scene, but Halo Infinite and Forza Hor...
