Re: What's the first videogame you ever remember playing?
Mine would've been on the PC, Sega Game Gear, or PS1, as those were what we had at the time. Most of the games that we had on PC were Star Wars and Star Trek strategy games, but I had no idea how to play them, so I would've just watched and "helped" my brother or dad. There was also Chex Q...

Re: Board/Card Games - The obligatory "analogue" gaming thread
I just got 7 Wonders. I like it but to me there's a bit of a jarring disconnect between how bright and breezy the game plays and how complicated it is to figure out the scoring. The scoring can be a bit messy. We usually have one person in charge of tallying it all up, they just go around and ask e...

Re: Board/Card Games - The obligatory "analogue" gaming thread
I also want to give a shout out to tabletop roleplaying games. Some of the most fun I've had are in games of D&D and the like. They take and expand all of great storytelling aspects that games provide, without pesky things like hardware limitations to get in the way of me pulling a Star Destroye...

Re: Board/Card Games - The obligatory "analogue" gaming thread
As others have said, I wish I had more time and people to play with, but on average we find time about once a month or so. Usually getting several nights in when people are home for the summer or holidays. Some of my favorites are 7 Wonders, Cranium, Citadels, and Pictionary. Of course can't leave o...

Re: Our next-but-one podcast recording (22.10.16) - Amnesia: The Dark Descent
According to Steam I got the game in the Humble Indie Bundle 5, so I probably played it sometime in 2012. As with many games, I played it with a friend watching. Over the course of, I imagine, a few sessions, we beat the game. There are a few moments that I clearly remember. The one that we still ta...

Re: Bloodborne
There was almost no reason for me to pre-order Bloodborne, let alone the collector's edition. Yet I did, and I am quite happy now with that purchase. Though let me back up a bit... Background I got Dark Souls for Christmas probably in 2012, as it was a part of a 'buy 2, get 1 free' promotion. Since ...

kOeE-i3b-Vs The original Shining Force soundtrack has some of my most cherished songs of all, there are literally too many to choose from. Battle 2 is the one I find to be pretty much the most iconic track of any game but this Battle 3 track is such a brilliant track it's hard to ignore. Still, if ...

Re: Our next-but-one podcast recording (29.10.16) - Fallout: New Vegas
I'll say that I preferred Fallout 3 to NV, but really, they're the same game to me, 3 just came first, so I spent more time with it. The intro to NV is pretty cool, I'd argue 3's is cooler, albeit longer. Though something can be said for the brevity of NVs intro when compared to growing up in the va...

Questions for Ghost Town Games
I plan on reaching out to Ghost Town Games with some questions about their recent release, Overcooked. I'd like to send out the email asking them on Tuesday or Wednesday. Sorry for it not being much time, but you can still post your questions later than that, as I don't know when they might respond....

A request for the Halloween special, if y'all are taking them: Rliq9zkZB3I 15 years after release, I still think Luigi's Mansion is one of the greatest horror games made. At the time, at the age of 6, I was terrified of King Boo and of walking through the candle-lit corridors. I have vivid memories ...

A few recommendations for Ryan and anyone else interested in the discussion of post-rock and stuff: pVOCvew2uSA Explosions in the Sky are arguably one of the most popular post-rock bands (I actually have no idea if this is true, but I feel like it is, and on the internet that is more than enough rea...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
I'd like to toss in a suggestion for Super Mario Strikers on the GameCube. After having shows covering Football Manager and Kick Off, I'd really like to hear the team's thoughts on a less serious take on the sport. Perhaps this could lead to covering the entirety of (what I consider) the golden age ...

Excellent show! Certainly makes work more enjoyable. Now, there are two music-centric podcasts that I listen to, Sound of Play and NPR's All Songs Considered. Occasionally with either show a song will come along that makes me pause the podcast because it reminds me of another song, and I just have t...

Re: Our next podcast recording (3.9.16): Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online
Hopefully this isn't too late for the podcast, but here we go. I wasn't incredibly excited for GTA V. Sure, it looked beautiful, and I enjoyed my time with the last two numbered entries in the series, but for me GTA has always been about relaxing with the sandbox parts of the game, not the story. I ...

Re: Two players. One screen. Good co-op games of today?
I just looked up how co op works, and it seems unnecessarily fiddly. Two PSN accounts needed etc. I recently finished an entire run of the game in co-op, so I thought I'd leave some thoughts on it here. The initial setup can be a bit tedious to bring in a partner. They do need their own PlayStation...

I believe Leon mentioned this in the episode, but I'd like to say after hearing that Rayman track: More songs need kazoos! (and it made me wish I hadn't sold my copy of the game) Also, the Patapon track was excellent, does anyone know what the best way to download the soundtrack would be? I've looke...

Re: Your questions about The Talos Principle
I played a bit of Ether One as well when it was free. Didn't make it too far because I think there was a lot of reading at the start, and I wasn't in the mood for it at the time.
I do really recommend The Talos Principle if you get the chance, especially if you enjoy puzzle games.
