Thankfully, yes.
I stand by my statement that DoA is secretly one of the very best fighting game franchises, once one can look past the frivolous and immature titillation. Intense, high-energy matches with the most intuitive and rewarding defensive options in the genre.

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread
True, but this might very well change with a bombastic trailer coupled with a Crackdown-Beta bundle releasing only one week later. It's obviously not the hottest new thing anymore, but let's not forget just how massive Halo can be under the right circumstances.

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread
You know how the Z.O.E. HD collection included a demo for Metal Gear Rising as a throwback to the MGS2 demo included in the original? What if... Crackdown 3 came with a Halo 6 beta as a similar throwback? https://pyroteq.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/halo-3-beta-includes-crackdown.jpg Microsoft hav...

I'm going to be bang in the middle of a 'Team Building' exercise with work when the Nintendo Direct is starting :| . Yeah, nothing says "Team Spirit" like "I'd rather be home watching the pre-recorded video of a distant stranger trying to sell me various lines of code than hang out w...

Re: Games Completed 2018
2. I guess I made part of that assumption based on the fact that it was on the Gamecube. 3. The last JRPGs I played were Trails in the Sky 1 and Worlds of Final Fantasy, so I think I was just on this weird kick. I never played the sequels, but, yes, Xenosaga was very dramatic. One of my favorite, n...

Re: Games Completed 2018
I went in expecting something light and fluffy That's really interesting to me because I think that JRPGs are particularly prone to mature themes and writing. Xenogears, Suikoden and FF Tactics have heavy political plots with strong philosophical undertones. I haven't played it, but my understandin...

Re: E3 2018 - Conference times and general chat
Anyway, my wishlist: I'd like to see something solid on Death Stranding. Ideally gameplay and not another impeccably directed trailer that only generates pointless hype. I don't want a repeat of MGSV. I want to see more of Metroid Prime 4 and Fire Emblem Switch. I appreciate Nintendo's habit of play...

Re: E3 2018 - Conference times and general chat
I know that list is very likely a fake, but I'll blow a gasket if the RE2make does end up being a VR-based FPS. Some lines shouldn't be crossed. Ever.

Re: 348: Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner
I find it difficult to think of another sequel which manages to blow its predecessor out of the water to the same degree that Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner does. Whereas the original suffers from its simplistic premise and underdeveloped nature, the second entry is a clear improvement in every ...

Apologies if this is already common knowledge, but do we know what the "various Nintendo events leading up to E3" are going to be and when they are supposed to take place?

At the risk of ruining the mood, I intend to go for the GOTY edition. All the content for two thirds of the price sounds like a decent deal to me.

it all falls down It falls down because you're looking for intellectual honesty and logical consistency where none exist. The vast majority of article writers are ideologues and not analysts. In this case, I'm not even disagreeing with the article's conclusion. Cage does have some issues with his p...

Sorry. :( It’s a useful starting point, and certainly something that most game designers will have probably read at some point. [...] Excellent stuf...

Bartle taxonomy
So the recent Fallout thread brought this concept at the forefront of my mind again. It's a classification method that organizes video game players into four different main groups based on their tastes and preferences according to two separate sets of factors. Short version: People who prefer intera...
