Re: Tech support - low laptop WiFi speed

Have you tried it via ethernet cable? That way you could at least determine if it's something up with your the built in wi-fi receiver or a problem with the settings on your computer.

Alternatively maybe buy one of those usb wifi dongles to see if that has the same problem

1. Grotesque baby shoots deadly tears 2. Gathering party before venturing north 6. Remove doors! Watch them starve... 8. Neon drenched, violent murder simulator. OK so there you go, some are really easy, none are too hard. 1, Binding of Isaac? I've never actually played it though so I'm probably of...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Seems like Nintendo actually has some decent long term plans this go around. Maybe time to invest long term? Also I think people vastly underestimate how strong cardboard can be. I worked in a shipping warehouse a few years back and (depending on type) those fuckers can take an almighty beating. We ...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

I wonder if it's also partly because forums/messageboards are a dying part of the internet and most discussion is moving to Twitter which just isn't really conducive to in depth discussion and analysis. It also restricts the types of opinions to draw from, I consider this forum to be healthier than ...

RDR2, I'm just hoping like hell that they focus on a well realised and alive world with an interesting single player story and not forsake all that for shark cards: old west edition

I clocked 103 hours on mine, although admittedly I kinda skipped the voice acting for a lot of the dialogue after the casino palace because there was a ton of long explanation and exposition.

What did you think of it?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've been playing a couple of games that I'm on the verge of uninstalling (probably tonight). Everybody's Golf is fine for what it is, but doesn't really suit my tastes. I'm not fond of the two-button control scheme for golfing games, and don't generally like power ups, club modifications etc (I kn...

Re: Our Patreon

Oh so it's the usual startup MO of avoiding any of the usual responsibility of operating a business to maximise their revenue. I saw someone share this which seems to say that there is a breakpoint where it actually becomes more profitable for creators. It also seems to favour already established cr...

Re: Help us DOUBLE the amount of Cane and Rinse podcasts!

To be honest I cancelled my pledge because I loathe it when policy changes fuck over the people who are paying the money It's not though, is it? It's fucking over the people who receive it, surely? Well it's both, if you want to give the same amount of money as previously you'll have to add a littl...

Thoughts on the changes to the way fees are handled?

Re: Videogame News

To keep in current, on the lead-up to Christmas, seeing Star Wars: Battlefront 2 heavily advertised on TV towards families and children feels... super seedy . While I personally won't be touching that game with a 10-foot-poll, seeing it pushed out into the colourful Christmas scene with no issues r...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

I want to recommended Switch eshop titles, but my Switch literally just arrived in the mail yesterday, and I'm not going to invest to much time into it yet. Once that 200g SD card comes in the mail (maybe next week) - then all bets are off! It's nice to have some context to most of the conversation...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Any Aus people, if you're looking for a Switch JB has them for $399 today only! Perfect time for me to pick one up $399 AUD is definitely a good price. I kinda caved and went with The Gamesmen deal - Switch console plus Super Mario Odyssey for $484, so geez... bye-bye money! That's a good de...

Re: Videogame News

There is another option: don't buy those games to begin with. Money talks. If people keep putting money into these companies that go in this direction, there's very little reason for them to change their behaviours. That's not exactly a feasible or realistic plan, and people are going to buy whatev...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

It's Japan. It's another culture. It's what's popular there. You either roll with it or you don't. Judging an entire other culture by your standards is pretty unfair. Anime is Japan's entire culture? Anyway Craig explained it better than I could, I've still found plenty of stuff I really enjoy, for...

ISS/Pro Evolution Soccer. Any chance at all of those getting covered at some point? So obviously we've already looked back at some of the older footy franchises in one show, but tackling FIFA and/or ISS/Winning Eleven/PES in one show would be a massive task, while doing multiple shows about the ser...

I have no connection the Metroid games but came across this elsewhere where the soundtrack is recreated with proper synths and basically turns it in to Metroid as directed by John Carpenter.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Why is this kind of thing so prevalent in JRPG's and anime/anime inspired media? That... would take a very long time to answer. A glib version would be "it's just the way it's always been", but that's probably not true. Early on in gamedev characters had to have bright costumes with contr...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

I want to give the games a try as the worlds look wonderful, but every time I see the character designs and the clothing they wear I just can’t. I can do melodrama, but when everyone looks like they’ve walked out of a fetish club, I’m just taken completely out of the story. Why is this kind of thin...
