Re: The PS3 rookie
If you're going to get an LBP then avoid the first and go for the second game instead.

Not in any particular order (except Dredd which was my favourite);
Dredd
The Avengers
Headhunters
Jiro Dreams of Sushi
The Raid: Redemption

...but I fear it's a battle he can't win and will probably make his chances of being re-elected slim at best and they'll end up with a George Bush clone that loves to blow shit up. Obama himself can't stand for re-election - a US President can only be President for two terms. Although it would no d...

Re: Rage
I'd like to know a little about what went on during the production of this game because history has shown us that games that have taken around five years in development have only done so because they were troubled in some way. Rage certainly feels at times that the groundwork for bigger ideas is pre...

Re: Rage
What stopped it being really great for me was that it didn't feel cohesive. It felt like a collection of bolted together pieces. The big world feel that they tried to create was undermined by only ever placing (shooting) combat in the smaller 'dungeons' that they built, and what made this worse was...

Re: Rage
It's interesting that they're still releasing DLC for it fourteen months or so after its release, maybe we'll get lucky and we'll see another expansion in order to improve that pretty dire ending?

RAGE
Over the weekend I received a copy, courtesy of Lovefilm, of id Software's Rage . To be honest, I wasn't expecting much having originally placed it in the rental list as a sort of filler. Which is why I was so surprised after I started to play it that it turned out to be rather good (well, except fo...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
The thing that makes Rage shine is the AI and animation. Bang it on Nightmare (which isn't hard, it just adds strategy) then you see stuff you don't see in anything else, great experience. There's also a level of subtlety in the enemy voice work too, with them constantly shouting what I'm doing &qu...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I finished Rage this year also. Thought it was actually a really solid wee game. Dropped in price really quickly so ended up picking up for under a tenner. Didnt get why it was panned so much. I read earlier that it only sold around 19,000 copies over the first week of release which is pretty disma...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Currently scouring the post-apocalyptic wastelands in Rage and being quite entranced by its desolate, yet highly evocative environments and those little pockets of civilisation.
Surprised that this title came and went the way it did.

Re: Battlefield 3
It continuously surprises me and thats why it annoys me that some people feel they are qualified to pass judgement on BF3 multiplayer even when they havent reached level 45. Its only when they reach this rank that i would value their comments, otherwise they are talking about shit they know nothing...

Re: The state of Xbox live
Thing is, with regards to online play specifically, is there an ideal system? I ask this because even the PC side of things has it share of issues to deal with. Recently, and despite it being a failure in many regards, the Onlive system had some quite innovative design to its implementation of the s...

Re: The state of Xbox live
For an online service I think PSN is absolute garbage, a series of trails that get in the way of me talking to friends and playing games. Nearly all of my real life friends are PS3 users and watching them organise a night online is somewhat of a comedy. You shouldn't have to send texts and be logge...

Re: The state of Xbox live
Having been a subscriber pretty much from the beginning I went Free/Silver in March of 2010 and have not returned. However, it would be a lie to say that XBL didn't have a massive impact on me though. I still remember purchasing the XBL pack for the original Xbox that came with the headset etc. and ...

Re: How did you find Cane & Rinse?
Well, basically, there was this little dot, right? And the dot went bang and the bang expanded. Energy formed into matter, matter cooled, matter lived, the amoeba to fish, to fish to fowl, to fowl to frog, to frog to mammal, the mammal to monkey, to monkey to man*. 200,000 years later (give or take)...

Re: The Walking Dead
Is there any sign of a disc based compilation of this being released any time soon? I would much rather Lovefilm it than purchase the episodes (although I don't think it will hold many surprises now that I've watched the whole thing via various YouTubes).
