Re: Comic Book Chatter

I've read loads of books over the last few weeks. Ducks: Two Years In The Oil Sands is Kate Beaton's autobiographical story about her time working in the Canadian oil sands. She experiences all the horrors you can imagine a young woman might face in a heavily male dominated, ultra masculine work set...

Re: Videogame News

I'd be well up for Sea Of Thieves on Switch. Seems like it'd be a perfect fit for 30 minute sessions running short quests.

Wowsers, that was one of the biggest spectacles in gaming I've played in a while. What a great ten minutes!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I picked up the first Duke Nukem cart for Evercade, and much to my surprise I am really enjoying the first game. The cartridge features remasters of the first two Duke games (the 2D side scrolling platform shoot 'em ups) and they look like total ass, but are just such fun to play! I really wasn't in...

Re: Videogame News

Interesting, thanks. I don't regret buying an Xbox this gen by any means but they really do have a lack of big budget AAA must-have games. There are exceptions of course, I loved the Forza games, both strands, as well as the most recent Halo and there are a few others, but nothing equivalent to Spid...

What's the talk? Microsoft pulling out of hardware? Or just putting their games on other consoles?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I played about 5 hours of GTA Vice City on Switch last year and went back to it yesterday, but all too quickly remembered why I'd stopped playing. There's a mission called Cop Land that is probably the single most frustrating mission I've played in any GTA game ever. I finished Vice City at least tw...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Very much looking forward to Masters Of The Air! Have you been watching this? Three episodes and so far it's captivating stuff with a production quality that's second to none. Some of the the aerial sequences have been some of the most intense, gut-wrenching stuff I've watched in a while. I tell yo...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I started playing the 2.5D remake of Rondo Of Blood on the PSP, but honestly, I wasn't really feeling it. Might see if I can download a ROM of the original game to try instead. You can actually unlock the original from the PSP remake but annoyingly you have to find an item in game rather than just a...

Re: Bad game openings

The Persona series is particularly bad for this. I know these games operate as visual novels too, but when I played 4 for the first time I think it was about three or four hours before I was allowed to control a character's movement. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but it was a frustrating experience....

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

What with Masters Of The Air coming soon I started re-watching Band Of Brothers on Blu-ray. It sounds exceptional with the PS5 3D Pulse headset. I'm not sure there's ever been a better WW2 series or film, it really is an incredible piece of work. Planning on watching The Pacific after as despite own...
