Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
Rocket Leeeeeeeague! Could I just add a +1 to this one. Rocket League would be a great one to hear some deep discussion about. I avoided the game completely in it's early years due to my hatred of the lootbox thing but when I actually played it myself (giving it a chance on Game Pass) it instantly ...

Re: Games Completed 2020
Just finished about 40 hours with Project Cars 2 (XB1 version currently on GwG). Overall I was very impressed with it. I didn't think it would be up there with the likes of Forza and Gran Turismo but for me it really was a high quality racing game with a lot of depth. The game is hugely customizable...

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake
There have been are a number of 10/10 reviews from Gamespot and others but generally it seems to be getting an 8/10 or a 4/5. I haven't had time to read the reviews in full but it sounds like FF7: R has the quality but not the quantity us fans expected. I'm curious what is there and what is missing....

Re: Save The National Videogame Museum
Never heard about this place before, it looks great. It would be very sad if it had to close. I would like to donate my own large collection to a museum like this one day. Could they not auction off items or ask game designers and big names to sign products and give support or something. Signed copi...

Re: Let's have a thread about the virus, then. We might as well.
Here in Poland lockdown started over a week ago. Mad panic buying started in my town on the first day but people calmed down the day after. Quite strange it was. Toilet rolls, hand wash, pasta and tinned foods were soon gone. The same as most places during this time. Now the shop shelves look normal...

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake
Regardless of how this part shakes out, seeing how they handle the next one is the moment of truth. Because doing a standalone Midgar is the “”easy”” part. It’s the biggest and most iconic location in the game, you spend the most time there, it has plenty of action setpieces and is relatively self-...

Re: Videogame Deals
I'm playing a quite fun and relaxing game I picked in today's Europe PS4 sale - 'Gem Smashers'.
I wasn't expecting much for 79p/4zl but it's good. It's a kind of bouncy animal ball, colour changing puzzle game... quite unique and hard to explain. Good fun though and easy to pick up and play.

Re: Your first four PS2 games
Outside of Pc gaming, I wonder if the ps2 has the largest library of any console? Certainly one of the most diverse. I’m fairly certain that during looking at library numbers in the past it had easily the largest console game number. Considerably over 1000 titles, I’m pretty sure games were still b...

Re: Games Completed 2020
I got the platinum trophy on Mortal Kombat (2011) a week or so ago. That sure felt good.
Hitman (2016) I've done 4 times (best game of recent years) and a number of short games.
Monster Energy Supercross (a PS+ game last month) was a lot of fun.

Re: Your first four PS2 games
Not owned but played on a friend's before I got my own. Timesplitters SSX Then the first I owned was Tony Hawk's 3. I remember it being the only game I got that Christmas along with the console. After that I really can't remember what was next but I do remember playing Medal of Honor: Frontline ove...

Re: Your first four PS2 games
Picked up my PS2 in the evening on launch day (around November time in the UK) with Tekken Tag Tournament & Ridge Racer V I think. What did I get after that?... maybe Silent Scope(?) and TimeSplitters. Sold all my old games and consoles to get the PS2 and didn't really regret it. Gran Turismo 3,...

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake
I just finished playing the demo again tonight (well, until it crashed on the boss fight and reset the game). Playing it again made me think about a few things. There aren't any random battles in the demo which makes me think difficulty might be set throughout the game with only shop items and pick ...

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake
I think my only concerns now are going to be how long it is, and then how long until we see part 2... Pay special attention to how it handles battle music during the timed escape, it’s doing something pretty clever. The game has been hyped and delayed for many years so hopefully there won't be a bi...

Final Fantasy VII Remake
After a very, very long wait, Final Fantasy VII - 'the remake' has finally arrived in a playable form. I spent roughly an hour on the demo this morning and I honestly don't think I've ever seen, heard or played anything as impressive. Every detail is stunning, the characters all have great voice act...

Re: The Guardian's Top 50 games of the century
Astonished that you’d never heard of Singstar. I get not being into it (I’ve never owned one), but it was all over the place from 2004-2011 or so, and is still going today. It was even autoinstalled on PS3 for a while. Upwards of 16 million sales, dozens of versions, it was hard to avoid for a whil...

Re: The Shenmue trilogy
Absolutely. The games are full of design choices and gameplay mechanics that in this day and age just don't hold up, and I can completely see why someone coming to the games now would have a tough time accepting them. But of almost any game I've ever played, Shenmue has the ability to cast a weird ...
