Re: PC Build Advice
You'll probably find most of the boxed games you pick up will install through Steam, and from there you can add DLC. Or, if it is an EA game Origin will do the same thing. For things that install without a service like that, I presume they'll offer some kind of in game menu option to direct you to w...

Re: How would you like your game sir?
Another never-ending James rant, I'm afraid. Not at all, I think this subject has lots to dig into! I hadn't considered the single player / multiplayer aspect, but the problem is that the game is marketed as having both parts. It shouldn't be down to the consumer to have to read up as to which part...

Re: STAR WARS teaser
I remember around the time of 'Empire' that there was always mention, from Lucas himself, that he envisioned the series as nine films Although, I wonder if that became a thing when IV was so successful? For me the prequel trilogy doesn't gel at all with the originals, the broad narrative strokes do...

Re: How would you like your game sir?
True, Titanfall deserves a lot of credit for being an online game that didn't launch completely screwed. It can be done! I think a continuing horrible trend with AAA releases this year is all the marketing pressure to pre-order titles to try and bypass the review process and prevent people making in...

Re: PC Build Advice
I had my tongue in my cheek a little, as I do appreciate how Steam has brought together the PC gaming community, but it really could be a crazy situation in the future. I kind of figure that if it ever went down then 'the internet' would have a work around of some kind, but maybe only for the games ...

Re: STAR WARS teaser
Really love the sound in that trailer. It looks really promising!
It needs to be brilliant, or we need more Vader NOOOOOOOO moments. Average just won't cut it!

How would you like your game sir?
We have both kinds, unfinished or broken. How are you going to look back at 2014 for games? I've not bought too many 2014 titles, I've spent quite a bit of time catching up on my backlog. However, I did purchase Alien Isolation. I had to take a couple of weeks off playing it due to a driver update c...

Re: Classic Amiga gaming
Thanks, I'm definitely going to try a few. I was so envious of my friends with Amigas. I had a C64 (which I loved), but the Amiga colours and animation just always blew me away!

Re: PC Build Advice
Oh, and if anyone's interested, I went with a 32" Sony Bravia for my TV choice. It's definitely a better choice than the Samsung. Better picture, better blacks, better audio, and with 4 HDMI ports too. Nice one! Glad you've resolved the screen issues. Yeah, everything looks for a client these ...

Re: HD remakes / remasters
At the expense of new games though? The volume of development concentrating on remakes and remasters surely takes away talent from innovation, no? Although, if they are fairly efficient to produce and put out, they might fund development on new titles, giving those new projects more scope? Also I'm...

Re: PC Build Advice
Sorry to hear it hasn't all gone smoothly :( So you're still deciding about the PC? Definitely makes sense to get a screen you're happy with first. I use a 32" as my monitor for my PC, but I have a big enough desk that it is a couple of feet away. Sitting close to a big screen will start to sho...

That sums up exactly the way I want delve right into that city. Can't even imagine 4k gaming yet, I have that scheduled in for late 2016 at least!ratsoalbion wrote:remember to look both ways before you cross the street!

Re: Alien: Isolation
Sorry, had to hide in a locker from this thread due to my technical difficulties putting me way behind. Luckily the latest driver update meant I could play again! Finished it last night, and overall I will leave having very much enjoyed it. With an editor I think it had the potential to be even bett...

Re: Fifa 15 Ultimate Edition
I had a look into this for a relative. From what I could tell it comes with some extra Ultimate Team goodies, which are only used in that game mode. Looks like some free Gold packs and some special kits. In my case it made it easy to recommend against it, because they don't play online. So you're no...

Re: All things Grand Theft Auto
It's a bit annoying the PC version is a couple months after the consoles, especially considering there hasn't been a version at all yet for it, but I guess it is better than nothing! (I'm expecting at least one delay on the January date though.) The thing I'm most excited to do is just explore that ...

GTA V for the new generation
The PR seems to be ramping up for the new versions of GTA now with some screens and videos popping up. I think this world is going to be amazing on the newer hardware. Although I got GTA V on 360, I kind of had in the back of my mind I would be playing an updated version in the not too distant futur...

Re: Arcade emulation
Having bought my first arcade stick this year to try and get a bit better at Street Fighter I really should try out MAME! I have done once before but it seemed really picky about what versions of roms ran. Is it more straight forward these days?
