Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Still plugging away at A Link To The Past. Finding it really hard to know where to go next to be honest. Want to get back into Mario Maker but not sure how to? Most of the people I've liked haven't released new levels of late, all the stuff in the charts is either a 'Don't move!', Music or Stupid ha...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
I watched Tomorrowland on a plane home yesterday. Really interesting movie from Brad Bird who did Iron Giant, The Incredibles and that good Mission Impossible film. Its kinda a family film but has a Buffy / Dr Who vibe to it, eg. kinda adult, cerebral and violent at times. But the plot hangs togethe...

Not really. One of my favourites too. Always enjoyed Dalton's outings.

I'd love to but don't own a 3DS alas. Sounds great...dezm0nd wrote:Have you played A Link Between Worlds? I played LttP just after my first experience of Zelda games with Ocarina of Time and even then I was blown away with nostalgia.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Got sick of having no new Zelda to play so downloaded A Link to the Past.
Pretty amazing huh? Got lost a couple of times but like Super Metroid, its all there and perfectly formed. Can only imagine what a leap it was if you played it at the time.

Just remembered Natalya's random routes through a level and desire to run in front of your machine gun, 10 minutes into that stand off by the GoldenEye satellite console.

Re: Our next podcast recording: GoldenEye 007
GoldenEye will always be a special game for me. It coincided with my first year at Uni and unlike many people who spent those formative years in a drug fueled orgy, I spent them making some great friends and playing one hell of a lot of local multiplayer. GoldenEye was always the game of choice in U...

Re: Nintendo NX
I agree with all of that. I'm still hoping (especially as someone who's only console is a Wii U) that Nintendo just ballsed up E3 and that 2016 is still a good year for the Wii U, with recent silences down to Iwatas passing and making sure they have lots of good news to share at once. Guess time wil...

Will have a think about what to write about this. Doubt you will, but do you intend to touch on its legacy and the various GoldenEye reboots / the remake?

Re: RE: Re: Nintendo NX
The WiiU isn't difficult to develop for at all. That's not the reason it got little third party support in the AAA space. It tends to get most of the same indie titles as the other consoles, sometimes earlier than them. Its not technically difficult to develop for from what I've read, its note that...

Nintendo NX
So shall we have a rolling NX thread? First details sorta leaked this week. Initial reports from first dev kits say its got a very highly powered chip set that a suped up PC struggles to run and is an all in one device, with a handheld part and a home hub. Hard to read much into such scant details b...

Re: RE: Re: Nintendo Wii U
The tutorialising and slow opening is annoying, if you think from the start of the game, how much there is from then to finally getting into the first dungeon as human Link, its annoying. But once you get past that, I think its pretty great, like a super refined ocarina of time. Yeah I agree. Its t...

Re: Nintendo Wii U
Saw on the Eurogamer article comments that next year is a big anniversary for Zelda. I think it was the 30th of the series and 10th for TP. Could be a good release to tide people over until the dedicated Wii U / NX title? I'm personally not super mad to play the game again anytime soon largely becau...

Re: Nintendo Wii U
I'd prefer to see some GC titles given an HD remake to be honest like F-Zero or Metroid Prime, but I am desperate for some Zelda right now. Dipped back in to sail around for a while on Wind Waker the other day out of pining for the new one. Tempted to dip into the VC and play some classic ones. Have...

Lara Croft Go
Really enjoyed this title. Good nod back to the original PS1 game and liked it far more than Hitman Go.

Re: SoP submissions *please read first post*
I'd like to recommend Lara Croft Go, The Maze of Snakes. FNOGWjhQqY4 This mobile title does the best job of capturing that sense of isolation and being trapped underground in a Tomb Raider title since the original. I love the nods to the original's menu screen and the sparse, echoey sound effects bu...
