Re: Cyberpunk 2077
It read as a punitive measure, initially, but who knows? The reality is that even discounting the bugs, you're left with well-worn, derivative gameplay within a very shallow open world. There's more interactivity in Skyrim. Fair play if you can look past that or if you were looking forward to someth...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
I have to say, it's a good feeling getting back in to watching films. I've neglected it for so long, and it almost feels liberating, in that sitting and playing a game had become a habit more than anything. One hundred percent agree. I did my wrist/hand hammering Mushihimesama Futari over the summe...

Because people aren't universally good or bad, without trying to be a smart arse. That's why he's also so relatable. He's got lots of positive, appealing qualities but he has also done terrible things.
I'm sure you don't believe he's supposed to be a hero even though he saved Abby.

Re: The Last of Us Part II
I would doom humanity to save my cat, without a moment's reflection, so I'm sure most empathetic people can relate to Joel's decision on some level. What makes it so richly fascinating, tragic and fucking monstrous is exactly like ThirdDrawing said: It is almost entirely a selfish decision, rather t...

Re: The Last of Us Part II
Joel got my empathy in the first game, but he was no hero. I loved getting to know him and he had a a lot of positive qualities, but he was also a monster and, ultimately, while I sympathised with his final decision re: Ellie, it was once again borne of selfishness and survival instinct. He betrayed...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Still watching movies more than gaming at the moment, and I've picked up some absolutely brilliant stuff. First up, I got the Godzilla Showa Era Criterion Boxset a little while ago when it was on sale, like a third off. I'd never seen any Godzilla and assumed it was crap. It kind of is crap, but in ...

I totally get you. It's incredibly thick and physical, the lighting is unbelievable. Looking forward to your updates in due course. A magnificent achievement but very emotionally draining, too!

Re: Demon's Souls
The visuals play their part but given I’d seen a lot of footage I knew what to expect. It’s the combination of controller feedback and 3D audio which makes it incredible. You feel it when your sword bounces off a shield or when you do the perfect parry. The 3D audio made it seem like things were In...

Ooh, yes. It is a little bit good. Would be my GOTY by distance if not for FF7R, and I'd say it's actually better.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Disappearance at Clifton Hill That sounds intriguing, and I really like the soundtrack. It reminds me of the J.B. Harold visual novels on the Switch, a late late night TV movie version of classic 50s noir. The games are a bit crap so I wouldn't get excited but that atmosphere pushed me through. The...

PS5 for me. Under normal circumstances I'd be well up for Calamity but I'm happy to wait til next year now. Demon's Souls is my most anticipated game since, ooh, FF7R.

Re: What's your first next gen game
Almost certainly Demon's but as I'm going all digital, it depends on how quickly it comes down the pipes!
I'll transfer my PS4 stuff to an HDD and hopefully I can bung them over quickly enough. Might be Ghost of Tsushima at 60fps.

Yep, I'd bet my left nut that a RE4 port is on its way!mikeleddy83 wrote: ↑November 3rd, 2020, 11:30 pm TL;DR: Getting both, mega excited - they both have at least one Capcom game coming to them right?

I've had a little while off writing but done a review of Crimzon Clover World Explosion on the Switch, which is released today. Absolute stone cold banger. Highest recommendation.

Crimzon Clover World Explosion is also out on the 29th, an exceptionally good shmup which is coming to console for the first time. It's got a great fun Novice Mode and a load of absurdly chaotic explosions and medals spraying all over the place. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/xX3R8WPmtG_arC...
