Re: Red Dead Redemption II

I noticed what was happening and guessed the spoiler that Alex79uk was talking about. That's disappointing it was spoiled for you though. I finished the game just before Christmas. I enjoyed the game for what it was even though I guessed what was going to happen. I think it was kind of redundant as ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've been playing Spider-Man..... I'm not sure how I feel. One classic villain boss battle near the start. The rest of the time Spider-Man is just basically beating up generic Chinese gangsters that Spider-Man would normally be able to take out in about 10 seconds. I do like that they took elements ...

That "aged 80s power metal singer" is Ian Gillan from Deep Purple!

Fair enough if you don't like it, but at least get your facts straight!

Re: Games Completed 2019

Bendy and the Ink Machine Interesting atmosphere, some unique designs. I had real problems with the visual design of the levels though - in the sense that the entire game is literally all one beigey/yellow colour. It made it easy to get lost sometimes when you were trying to find something. My other...

Re: How do you feel about monetisation in games?

Pretty much out of principle, yes. Not a tactic I would like to support.

Buying games with it, supports it, ergo don't buy those games.

I'm not a hardcore DMC fan so it's not a huge deal.

I don't play any games that have monetisation.

DMC V, unfortunately, is going to be on that list.

Re: Volume Eight

Leah is already lobbying for a future FF ’gaiden’ series though. Ooooo, Mystic Quest/Final Fantasy/Adventure/Seiken Densetsu would be nice.... I would love them to review the other Mana games besides Secret, but I don't think Legend of Mana would get viewed very favourably. :/ Also, are both parts ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

With the Valravn battle, I watched a couple of videos of people's battles and realised there were things that I could do that the game doesn't tell you. I couldn't figure out why I was doing so badly until I realised I could focus during battles. But... The game literally does tell you. The voices ...

Re: Most Anticipated 2019

1) Shin Megami Tensei V - My current favourite series (That's still being made) and my fingers are crossed we're getting it this year. 2) Shenmue III - I'm probably the only one 3) RE2Make - I feel the same as everyone else. 4) Wasteland 3 - I'm really happy this series was able to come back, as I h...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I think I'll give it a little more time, but I've already semi-resigned myself to giving it up for something that'll grab me more. I've yet to get my hands on Dead Cells... Trust me, Okami picks up. You quickly start getting different combat mechanics that allow you to do different things, and expe...

Re: What feature from game A would you like to see in game B?

I'd like to see saved data carry over between different games in a series ala the old SSI D&D games or the Suikoden games.

Re: Our next Final Fantasy podcast recording (16.2.19) - Issue 357: Final Fantasy VIII

I played this when it came out and it is one of my biggest gaming disappointments ever. I have a lot of things to say about FF8, and none of them are good. The characters are bland and devoid of ...well...character. The junction system is tedious and repetitive and makes the game a chore to play. Th...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I picked up Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice while I was at home for the holidays, based on word of mouth I had heard. That and supporting physical releases. Didn't know much about it before I bought it. Was not expecting a horror game! I'm quite enjoying it so far! I'm glad I skipped the episode from la...

On twitter and other places, I've talked "around" there being scene in Red Dead Redemption 2 that reduced me to tears. I think this is also the scene that David and Sean were talking around during TCGS. Anyone else find this as moving as I did? I thought it really humanised Arthur in a wa...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Finally got my copy of Night Trap for the Switch, at my parents. It's......really bad. THIS is what the ESRB was created for? It really is terrible. I think they’re bringing Double Switch out again as well, that’s marginally better (and was actually filmed in the same decade that it originally rele...
