Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Axiom Verge for Switch. I’ve got the physical special edition coming, although it seems to be delayed for some reason so haven’t played it. That said, with having just finished Metroid 2 and Steam World Dig 2 out and getting rave reviews - perhaps I’d wait a while until I dip in anyway. Stardew Val...

Re: All things Metroid

Huh, I just went back and collected the last bits to 100% the game.

Once you’ve done that, those 10 pictures turn into 11.

The last one, secret one, is interesting regards the story.

Re: All things Metroid

So, I just finished Metroid 2. Whilst I still stand by my last post regards the last 10 Metroids beginning to drag, the final few make it worthwhile. Sensing the end, I started to get ahead of myself and began to reflect on the game as a whole, then something else happened which put me back a bit :l...

Re: Retro gaming

I have recently been digging around in my spares bin and managed to put tother a Wii a for a lady in work who wanted to get her 5 year old boy a console for his birthday to try. While I was going though bits I decided to get my old Wii out of its box and set it up on my PVM, something I've never don...

Just making it known, I'd be firm advocate of any potential Mario Paint episode  .

I have numerous mice and carts if any of the team need to borrow them ;) .

Re: Super optimistic sales

Loads, I come across a lot of what I feel to be overpriced stuff. However, the market is a rollercoaster. Stuff tends to shoot up and out of control almost at random sometimes. Then stuff tends to climb due to obvious reasons, like re-releases or re-masters. Hardly reaching the echelons of prices th...

Re: All things Metroid

The last quarter of Metroid 2 is dragging a bit for me now :( . I love it, it looks bloody brriiiiilllllant but the game lacks variety in gameplay I think towards the end. I have nothing like as much gusto to hunt and kill the last 10 Metroid’s. The only thing that’s keeping me going is the fact tha...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

So, the time has come for me to seriously start to consider a memory upgrade on my Switch. I have about 10GB left of internal storage. Trying to stay a physical as I can when when it comes to my games purchases, there are the odd games that are only digital and there are the types of games that you ...

Re: What's Out This Week?

I think I might very well buy a SNES Classic Mini if I can find one at my local store. I wasn't too crazy about the NES one, but the games lineup seems more appealing to me this time around. The inclusion of any of the Japan-only SNES Fire Emblem titles would have turned this into an absolute must-...

Re: What's Out This Week?

Ha, it made my heart glow to see the SNES come up on the list just then  . Ratso - Yeah, I picked up PES the other week on Xbox one and while, yes, yet again it’s probably the best football game out there, the content feels even more hamstrung again this year. Some of the faces are comical (the...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

I've been playing Thimbleweed Park on my Switch. It's a bit good! Touch controls work well and also has the options of regular controls incase your fingers are huge. Funny, intriguing and well made. Definitely check it out if you like Point N Click games or like me, you haven't played one in years!...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

I don't know if they have some kind of retail exclusivity or they're just speculatively putting their pre-orders up now. Generally, in my experience Game tend to stick things up as soon as they are announced, or very close too, at least. I'm sure there will be some sort of estimate that they will b...

Re: Retro gaming

I've come into a CRT Monitor that I don't have any use for. It's a 15" - 750 Line - 50/60hz PAL/NTSC unit. The case is in really good condition, it has a little screen burn but isn't noticeable when in use. It has BNC input, that will take a composite connection and gives a nice rich display. E...

Re: Official Video Game Guides & Art Books

I picked up the Prima Metroid 2 Guide, it arrived from Amazon yesterday - I'd actually forgotten I'd pre-ordered it, so was a nice surprise  . It was fairy cheap and is nice to add to the collection but inst much of an art book really. Still it's nice to have these items for games you like. I d...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Bloody Swicth Tax. It is a bit of wee wee take. One can only hope that once the first year has ticked by and Dev’s start thinking about Swicth versions more in tandem with other platform release windows will shorten and prices come closer together. Loved Doom but I liked it loud, massive and on my 5...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm nicely settled into Metroid 2 at the moment, however - Steam World Dig 2 has come out today and I've been looking forward to this since it was first shown at the Switch reveal. Due to the similarity of the two games in terms of genre, I think I'll find it awkward to flick between the two, so I t...
