I still say Kiwami 2 is the best of the series, the PS2 original and the remake. It's just so memorable, and has an amazing finish, and the female lead actually has agency. 3 is definitely a comedown, and I'm actually working through the remastered version on XBox One.

Phantasy Star IV is an excellent experience; a good story and it really all pays off at the end. I also recommend listening to the Square Roots Podcast's coverage of the game from a few years ago.

Yep, there is stuff to find in the open world, but it's relegated to the Free mode, mostly. Funnily enough I have been playing the remastered version of L.A. Noire as well.
