Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

Halo Infinite has now been delayed until next year. What does everyone think of the delay? For me, with all the recent news that has come out of 343 Industries regarding the work environment, hiring and firing of independent contractors and the effect the corona situation has had, it isn't surprisin...

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

Read an interesting theory just now. It was that MS might not release any future Minecraft updates on other platforms. At first I thought why would they do that, but the theory was that they could use minecraft as leverage to getting Nintendo and Sony to agree to allowing Game Pass/xcloud on their ...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

So with Crysis now available on Switch, are you guys thinking of picking up a portable version? https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2020-crysis-remastered-switch-modding-and-overclocking-analysis Digital Foundry says it runs better than the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, which is just amaz...

Wow, awesome man! Were you there during the Black and White days? Still one of my favorite games of all time, as well as its sequel. Fable was also amazing!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Tried a few hours of Hitman 2 this evening since it was on PS Now. Nope. I've tried almost every Hitman game, right from the originals on PC, to Blood Money, to Hitman 2016 to Hitman 2. I respect them, I understand why people like them, but they're not for me. I just find them too hard. I can never...

Re: Videogame News

this newly announced MVSX Home Arcade has me really intrigued: http://www.snkmvsx.com/index.html . not terribly interested in the the KOF-heavy games list, but if it's built well and is relatively easy to add games to (it's got six buttons instead of SNK's usual four—it's begging to have Street Fig...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Ghibli is life man! One of the movies that I haven't seen yet is Porco Rosso! Ghibli really are masters of their craft. My favorite has to be either Howl's Moving Castle or Kiki's Delivery Service. Grave of the Fireflies is also great (albeit a total gut punch). I absolutely love all of them but yo...

I really enjoyed it man, it is a great back and forth between the two of them! In the SF4 days, there were quite a few EVO finals where I was on the edge of my seat!

I would love to join in with some fisticuffs with you fellas. Its pretty tricky with the time difference, as I'm usually still at work! The time slot is Tuesday nights from 8 - 10pm GMT, but next week we're shifting to Monday for one time only. I've nearly finished downloading Street Fighter 5, so ...

Save an original Xbox today! - remove the dreaded ticking time bomb clock capacitor

I recently just removed my original Xbox's clock capacitor. After 10 years or so, these capacitors can start to leak electrolyte fluid over the motherboard, shorting the motherboard and creating a dead Xbox. Fortunately, mine was still okay when I removed it. This is the culprit: https://i.ibb.co/R0...

Hahaha. I enjoyed it, only watched half an hour so far but good to check out the competition! :D I watched the match at StunFest between Daigo and Momochi, very hype match indeed. Might just be my memory, but I feel that SF4 is more exciting as a comeback game than SF5, with all of the ultra combo ...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

@Alex/Suits Laputa: Castle In The Sky is a fantastic romp, more action-packed than most Ghibli. The music is sensational. It all feels very Nintendo in a way to me. Some of the visual design is amazing. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is quite similar to Mononoke in its themes but I find it a lo...

Extreme respect to anyone who can play bullet hell even remotely competently, I was watching the footage and it looks insane. Thanks, man. Very kind. I'm not opposed to buying stuff day one or at full price within its launch period after reading reviews/reaction if it's something I'm really excited for or that reviews/reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. The last time the latter being the case was BoTW, having never only played Twilight Pr...

Re: Self-imposed rules on buying games?

Heard a great quotable on the Watch Out For Fireballs podcast - "hype is costing you money." They were talking about how if you don't mind what you play next and you don't get swept up in the buildup for every big release, gaming can be very affordable. I try to only buy on sale as a rule...

https://youtu.be/3UaXhe_XPsU I might have already shared this in the thread somewhere but this Daigo vs Momochi Grand Final from 2015 is as exciting and mind-blowing as any Street Fighter I've seen. Both players seemingly at their peak and what starts out as an incredible display of footsies and te...
