Re: Shmups
Picked up Neko Navy while I remembered... 36 minutes before missing out on the 20% off. It looks delightfully mental. Thanks again for the recommendation, pretty sure from watching videos & reading up a bit I will like that one, which I’ll try after Overdriven. This bullet hell stuff feels like ...

Re: Shmups
Yep, I'm kinda fascinated by it and tend to get drawn into things like this where it's a rabbit hole to discover. Overdriven seems to have come in cheaply at the perfect time to satiate initial curiosity. I definitely want other schmups but will play this for a while and see how it develops I think!...

Re: Shmups
Overdriven Reloaded on Switch seems great to me, I’ve managed a level so far and am really enjoying the gameplay! I know I have little frame of reference but I can see myself getting more into this genre already and it feels like an ideal introduction. Loads of difficulty options & content it ap...

Re: Shmups
It does look cool! I've picked it up anyway, cost me 31p as I had some points. Cheers me up slightly from missing out on your previous recommendation Clippa... I went to purchase Black Bird at five past midnight when pissed, only to see it had just gone back to full price a few minutes prior.

Re: Shmups
It would cost you £26, but I'll explain the process. It's not that complicated. There are a couple of ways but I'll put this in a spoiler because it's off topic. 1. The most straightforward method is to set up a second Japanese account on your Switch. You can't use your UK card so you have to buy J...

Re: Shmups
Ah that's just a guideline as I have so much access to retro already and fancy something modern & graphically nice on Switch, cheers for the recommendations! Tengai does look cool Leon. @Stanshall Is it difficult to get a Japanese game? I like the sound of the training modes etc... Also I've jus...

Re: Shmups
I'm after a decent schmup for the Switch. Being a n00b (or rather just unskilled) I'm a bit hesitant. So far I've looked at Danmaku Unlimited 3, which looks cool. Also R-Type Dimensions EX. I think I'd prefer a horizontal one but as long as it's not too difficult I'll consider anything really. Would...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
On a recent Giantbomb podcast they were suggesting ray tracing would be nigh on impossible for the next gen of consoles. Well then.

Re: Games Completed 2019
Titanfall 2 (PS4) I really, really enjoyed this. It might be my favourite FPS campaign, certainly up there with the likes of Halo 3 in my book. I felt more for BT than I think I have for any character in an FPS before. The level design is tremendously varies and well thought out, shooting mechanics...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
Man, it is such a chore going back to my PS4 from using my Switch / handhelds to play what feels like any physical game I acquire. My friend has kindly lent me Doom which I've fancied for a while, and would like to play as part of the forthcoming C&R pod. I fire it up last night - first thing I'...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
I've gone all-in on the current Switch, I'm very happy with it functionally. As a keen handheld gamer I've picked up a Satisfye Pro Gaming Grip with Elite case for all peripherals, and a decent power bank which gives me 3 extra charges of the Switch on a single charge, from within the case. This cur...

Re: Games Completed 2019
Streets of Rage 1, 2 and Bare Knuckle 3 (Megadrive Classics, Switch) It was on the gaming bucket list to complete these as I realised I'd only ever actually finished SoR 2. Played on the Megadrive Classics compilation on the Switch which was largely bought for this purpose (cheaper than the 3DS opti...

Your write-up makes me want the 3DS version... BUT I will definitely get the sequel on Switch, so maybe I'll just wait. I sold the Wii U one a while ago, I miss it!

Re: Work and Jobs and Stuff
Hey folks, I feel like the age range on this site tends to skew a bit older, so I wanted to see if I could start a bit of a conversation about work and work culture and stuff. I finished school in 2013, and I've had, not counting the emergency part-time gigs, 7 full time jobs. I lost three of those...

Re: Starlink: Battle for Atlas
End credits have rolled. What a total surprise this game was. From suddenly being offered it for a fiver to having a quick go to check it works to becoming obsessed with it during most of my available gaming minutes it's been an absolute blast. Highly recommended. Of all the comparisons this game ha...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
I did order a Satisfye grip which has proper handles like a Vita third party grip I tried at my mate's. So so much more comfy for a ground pounder. Just received one of these today. Excited to use it, the Switch has always bothered me with the lack of rigidity thanks to the modular joycons, and my ...
