Re: Save The National Videogame Museum
I know this is a bad time to be asking people for money, but in case anyone has even a spare few quid - the National Videogame Museum needs our help! It's basically under threat of closure thanks to the current situation, and they've set up a Just Giving page to try and save it. Here's the JG page ...

Re: Community Streamers
I thought we might need a place for community members who stream to drop their Twitch (and non-Twitch) links. I'm always looking for new to people to follow and connect with via their streams. Go ahead and put info about your channel and schedules here as well! You can find me at twitch.tv/duskvstw...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I really enjoyed Absolution. It's been a long time since I played it and I don't remember much, but I know it was a lot easier going and a little more combat heavy. I might give Hitman 2 one more try and whack the difficultly right down, see if I get anything out of it. Nice, I have it on Steam act...

Re: What do you think about the Resident Evil timeline?
I saw that too, really impressive compilation by TheBatman. I like most of the Resi lore I'm aware of, they've always had a mix of B-movie spooks and this barmy, overarching dark science plot that connects the games. But it's always the strength of the individual scenarios and settings of each game...

Re: What do you think about the Resident Evil timeline?
I'm always a sucker for these kind of projects and it's clear that a lot of time and effort has gone into this - I have a feeling I caught this some time ago whilst it was worked upon so had already seen part of it - that or someone else has already something similar Resident Evil as well remains o...

Re: Favourites that have waned
Interesting topic to think about. I shall ponder my own. Surely at least one person here reassessed their feelings for Shenmue after playing the remasters and sequel... I remember playing Shenmue on my friend's Dreamcast at secondary school and it was just mind-blowing. I have both Shenmue 1 and 2 ...

Re: Favourites that have waned
In terms of games that do stand the test of time and I appreciate even more now is Roller Coaster Tycoon. I still think it’s the pinnacle of the genre in terms of depth and accessibility for seasoned sim fans and newcomers to the genre Soooo goooood! The amount of hours spent making death rides or ...

Re: Favourites that have waned
I really love talking about design choices that have resulted in games that stand the test of time. Games like Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night are games that were released 20+ years ago, and yet I would have no problem recommending any them to someone today, bec...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Redline is an amazing film, I watched that many years ago, but I remember the very trippy visuals from that movie! I saw it in my local Tsutaya (a popular movie rental store) on a shelf, so might have to give it another rental at some point. Out of interest, have you ever been to Japan before? Ther...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)
To follow on from shadowless_kick's Killer Instinct choice, I'd like to submit a Killer Instinct 2013 choice. To choose one piece from this outstanding soundtrack is almost impossible, but I'd like to submit "The Dragon Spirit", which is Kim Wu's theme from KI 2013. v-ob-w2vFOs She is a ve...

Re: 445: Mario Kart DS
Mario Kart DS is a very enjoyable game in the series, tracks like Rainbow Road, Tick Tock Clock and Bowser's Castle were stand-outs for me. When I worked at Nintendo of Europe from 2012 to 2013, I usually had multiplayer shenanigans on Mario Kart 7 at lunchtimes with other staff members, but I would...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
I was really pleased to see Long Way Up will be starting in September. I was a big fan of Long Way Round and Long Way Down. If you've not seen them, they're motorcycle adventure trips with Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. The first one they rode from London to New York, 'the long way round', and ...

Does anyone here watch eSports/Professional Gaming
Personally, I love eSports and regularly watch the StarCraft 2 GSL over in Korea. High level StarCraft 2 is simply insane to watch. Aside from that, I love fighting games and love watching tournaments like EVO, CEO, Frosty Faustings (oh how I wish it could be frosty now with the current weather) Wed...

What do you think about the Resident Evil timeline?
Having a gander on Eurogamer recently brought this article to my attention: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020-08-12-meet-the-resident-evil-superfan-whos-spent-a-decade-putting-together-a-2700-page-timeline-of-the-entire-series Its an interesting piece and TheBatMan who wrote everything put a r...

You'll be back after the next session though, voice chat or no? Here's Monday's archive, by the way. Re: Games Completed 2020
Games Beaten: 15th August - Telltale's The Walking Dead (excluding the 400 Days DLC). This is also the perfect game to play in chunks or at the end of a long day, as it doesn't require much from the player in terms of input or puzzle solving skills. Yeah, TWD was interesting because the first episo...

Re: Games Completed 2020
The game only had 1 season consisting of 5 episodes, with the extra episode "400 Days" released fairly recently.
