Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

Surprised to see so many people not interested in GamePass. For me, it's an essential part of owning an XBOX. No the XBOX is my primary system, as I've stated many places, but even if it wasn't paying the relatively small fee for all the MS first party games is value enough, and then I've been able ...

chase210 wrote: April 13th, 2019, 9:23 pm So discless One S has leaked! Not sure it’s for me but still, pretty cool.
If they do a discless One X we'll probably swap Linda's (my wife) out for one as she's still on a launch One right now and we have zero use for a secondary UHD BlueRay player! ;)

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

What does this mean in practical terms? I'll be able to download my purchased XBLA games to phone and play them? It's more that the online multiplayer, party chat, etc can be integrated into none XBOX games I would think. Perhaps Achievements too, although they might want to keep a tighter hold on ...

A little tangential but Paradox, the makers of Cities Skyline, Surviving Mars, Stellaris amongst others have just launched their own mod service, which is going to allow mods to come to XBOX too!

Re: Board/Card Games - The obligatory "analogue" gaming thread

Third, we played a cool detective game yesterday called Chronicles of Crime. It uses a phone app to play as well as the board. It is cooperative to solve the mystery so you go to locations, find clues, talk to people, and utilize your experts to get to the bottom of things. All the cards have a QR ...

Re: Explain your user name and avatar

Oh. ok then. Well my first name being Steve, and growing up in the time of the arcades (the 1970s for the less well educated!) I would shorten this to STE for the high score tables that were the fashion at the time. However now and again a machine would come along that for some reason would allow 4 ...

Re: Videogame News

Oh Division 2 might be something. My wife and I really enjoyed playing through the first, if you ignore political aspects of the game and just enjoy the solid gunplay. Or I just pretend it's not set in the US but post Brexit Britian ;) "Ignore the political aspects" might as well be Ubiso...

Re: Gaming Goals for 2019

I mean I think that there is an incredibly strong list of ‘must play’ PS4 only stuff, but of course, that all comes down to personal taste. I can’t help but wonder if at least some of those titles might not tickle your fancy if they were to appear in Xbox land though! For sure Spiderman and God of ...

Re: Gaming Goals for 2019

The big issues with XO were (for me and others) obviously, as you know, that the bottom line was you were getting a notably less capable machine (where multiformat games looked and ran visibly worse) for more money (with the Kinect of course which many of us never wanted). I’ve owned a launch XO, a...

Re: Gaming Goals for 2019

Except that PS4 had almost every one of the highly rated, big selling exclusives, and multiformat games still sell far more on PS4. I love my XOX - that’s where I get multiformat stuff now for the most part, but if I had to keep one machine it would undoubtedly be the PS4 Pro, for the strength and ...

Re: Gaming Goals for 2019

As for platforms, well with the exception of the No Man's Sky update I didn't boot up the PS4 in 2018, so I'm shelving that as a gaming platform now, even to the point of allowing my PS+ sub to expire. Interesting post as a whole, but just reading this bit....do we think that, what with Gamepass an...

Re: The "Introduce yourself" thread

These days I guess I could be called a bit of a 'closet gamer' as there is a view amongst my social circle that gaming is for kids. This stigma is another reason why I thought I would join the forum, to have conversations with likeminded people! Harley Welcome! Amusing you've tried the games are th...

Re: Gaming Goals for 2019

Ah, not a bad idea to lay things out in black and white for 2019. My wife and I have set a limit of only purchasing 3 games in 2019. Between us, not each! That includes DLC, or season passes for that matter. No idea if we will be able to stick to it but with most of the games coming out this year be...

One of the more unique First Person Exploration games I've played. And I don't think any game has quite captured the feelings of both classic X-Files and Twin Peaks quite so well, certainly not any games made for those franchises. Nor have I ever been left with so many questions after playing a game...

Well Tropico 6 is something I will pick up at some point, but as I'm still working through the achievements in 3 it will be a while before I need to get that ;) And I've barely scratched the surface of the first Dirt Rally. So yeah, guess I'm just getting old and out of touch! Oh Division 2 might be...
