Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Still making my way through Banjo-Kazooie , but for whatever reason I have really slowed down. I started off strong, but I've been losing interest over time. But I'm still enjoying it well enough and will finish, but I can't imagine I'll go through and get every collectible or anything like that. I ...

Re: Your soothing gaming fix

Definitely Tony Hawk, preferably the 1+2 remake.

The music, nostalgia, and familiarity with every inch of those first few games goes a long way in getting me to a comfortable, happy place.

Re: Bringing back your favourites... Which is it?

This may be cheating because I've never played it, but I've wanted to play Black for years but have no way to access it. So if they gave that shine and re-released it I'd be there day one. Or even just a straight port would be good enough for me.

Re: 522: What Remains of Edith Finch

After powering through Firewatch and finding it boring, I more or less wrote off "walking simulators" as a genre. They look pretty, people enjoy them, but I figured if I didn't like Firewatch , the one everybody and their mother loves, then the genre just wasn't my thing. Then Edith Finch ...

Sure am! The new (old/remastered?) tracks were the most exciting part of the Nintendo Direct for me

Re: Books completed (and general book talk)

I found the writing style in Fight Club to be electrifying. I remember when I first read Fight Club it blew my 20 year-old mind, loved his style of writing. I immediately read 3 or 4 more Palahniuk books in a row, which turned out to be a mistake. His style is distinct, but it's also very similar b...

Sorry if it's a repeat, but I did a quick search and didn't see it mentioned.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Having recently signed up to the Nintendo Switch+Expansion pack, I was thrilled to see they just added Banjo Kazooie . Massive nostalgia vibes here, I used to adore this game on the N64 back in the day though I thought Banjo Tooie was even better. I’ve played through the first few levels (Spiral Mo...

I actually spent a decent chunk of time breaking the Mario Kart rust off. I'll still get last place, just not by 2 miles

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Is everybody going to yell at me and take my gamer card away if I say that I'm bouncing off of Bowser's Fury ? I love Mario, especially 3D Mario, but for some reason I am not gelling with the open world set up. I miss each stage being its own contained little world. I'll keep going back, at least fo...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I finally picked up Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury and it's made me drop pretty much everything else I've been playing. It's as wonderful as you'd hope/expect a Mario game to be, and it has really upped my interest in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. But I will admit that I'm having some diffic...

Re: Mario Kart 8 DX game night - 29/12/21 8pm GMT

Do you guys ever play anything else online (or fancy playing anything else)? Mario Kart's definitely the easiest to set up and play but I'd be up for pretty much anything on Gamepass - games like Halo and Forza would work pretty well for 8-12 people. The only other games I ever really play online a...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Does the combat get better as you put the three billion skill point nodes in the skill tree? I also just don't care much for Eivor so far, either. I'm still not super far into it, but the combat got more interesting to me once I got a few skill books under my belt. Books of knowledge? I forgot exac...

Re: Mario Kart 8 DX game night - 29/12/21 8pm GMT

I didn’t actually know the right buttons and had been jumping into corners thinking I was braking! I read this yesterday and laughed to myself. Cut to today when I accidentally hit the B button and my car skidded and slowed down. I ALSO DON'T KNOW HOW TO BRAKE! I was hitting ZL the whole time! ZL i...

Yeah, that was a lot of fun! Stinks I had to leave and go back to work, but it was great and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

And to whoever dropped that bomb at the very end of the Excitebike track, your days are numbered, friend.
