Re: Destiny / The Taken King

Aye, I should re-download the updated vanilla game and see how I like it before spending anything, you're quite right. Well, if you're on PS4, I'd happily go for a raid attempt again. Unfortunately at the moment, due to having rcently had a baby, I'm massivly unreliable for actually being online. I...

Re: Destiny / The Taken King

Well, the fixes for TTK have been rolled back into vanilla destiny, so you could just have another crack at destiny like it was a new game. I'm sure you'd find some willing volunteers to take you through the raid and whatnot. If you're hankering for more after that, then it's a little easier to just...

Re: Destiny

I downloaded Destiny from PSN day one (minute one actually), and so paid £54.99. I must have played it for around 30-something hours at least so it didn't represent terrible value for money (though clearly not as good as for those of you who have played 500+ hours or whatever. But I don't really wa...

Re: Destiny

The legendary edition of the taken king has been floating around the £35 mark from various sties for a while now, that gives you eveything.
Good value if you didn't get any of the expansion packs.

Re: PlayStation Plus (and the PS Store in general)

oh! didn't realise that they'd been hacked, I've seen them floating around for £28, the price really fell out of them.
My understanding is it's the guts of a vita, so no screen or controls, you'll also need another (overpriced) vita memory card.

I was telling myself that I'm not going to get over-excited about this one, and that I'm not going to rush out and pick this up as soon as it lands...

I have an envelope in my desk that has £45 in cash, ready to run into game like a hyperactive 5 year old and grab a copy :D

Re: Our next Halo podcast recording - Halo: Reach

I hope you're going to spend some time in the show talking about the beta testing for Reach, a lot of great gaming! It was also nice that Bungie actively encourage people to send in the clips of their game doing weird and wonderful stuff, I seem to remember Bungie compiling videos showing off some o...

Re: Our next-but-one podcast recording - The Secret of Monkey Island

I played the sequel to this game on the Amiga, and loved every minute, but it wasn't until I owned a PC some years later that I picked this one up. Back when I was playing, the internet wasn't really a thing, so you couldn't easily look up how to get past something if you were stuck. so I ended up s...

Re: Our next podcast recording - Sensible (World of) Soccer series

ah, The fond memories I have of playing Sensible soccer on my amiga 500. The slightly odd physics where the ball didn't really stick to your feet, but after a summer holiday of playing non stop against friends, I think we were all able to perform a perfect curling shot from the half way line and sco...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I have been off work on Paternity leave. Between changing nappies and drinking gallons of coffee, I have re-started playing FFVII on my vita (being able to tap the power button and suspend my game is such an amazing thing!). I've just hit disc 2, I have been enjoying the game a lot, although, I do l...

Re: Our next Halo podcast recording - Halo 3: ODST

ODST catches a lot of flack but I really enjoyed it. Not being a spartan, you couldn't just go barrelling right into the middle of a battle, you'd have to carefully pick your way around the edge of battles, or sometimes just sneak past them all together. Knowing what weapon you had became vital, esp...

Re: PlayStation Plus (and the PS Store in general)

Rocket league is good fun.
From what I've played I've been trying to grasp the basics, but I can see there's a whole load more to the game.
also, you can paint your car with hot-rod flames and wear a pirate hat :)

Re: PlayStation Plus (and the PS Store in general)

PSN was a little wobbly last night. I was hoping to have a go at rocket league, but the store was unavailable pretty much the entire evening :( Geometry wars on the vita is amazing though! Weighing in at only 100mb, it's a game that's going ot live on my vita for a long time. I made sure I took a sc...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Played one of the GTA 5 heists in full over the weekend.
wow,
Rockstar really can make some amazing game set-pieces!

There was a lot of very tense moments, along with some phemoninal GTA moments (spending 5 minutes arguing over who should be driving the boat).
I can't believe I've been missing out!

Re: PlanetSide 2

I've been playing more this, got myself up to level 7, then restarted to try and join McFluffin on a different server. I've been trying to use different classes now, and I've been flipping between the medic and the engineer. I also had a go in a tank. Is anyone else on here still playing on the ps4 ...

Re: PlanetSide 2

So I set myself up with a Terran character. I wasn't sure which of the servers to select, so I made 2 accounts, one for each of the busy EU servers. I spent a good hour running about, not really too sure what I was doing, I found myself running to a waypoint some 1000m away, then being shot from som...
