Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
No doubt this has cropped up at some point, but it would be great to hear a show on the F-Zero series. Great memories of the original way back when, and a feather in my gaming hat is definitely seeing off the cruelly difficult F-Zero GX last year after some 10 years of trying, what a game!

Re: All things Assassin's Creed
I listened to the podcast on AC3 earlier today. I did 100% the single player, not out of some compulsion to finish everything, rather a very British feeling of comfort in the monotony in those woeful side quests. That's probably a good indictment of my feeling towards the game, many hours input yet ...

Aural goodness:
Peaceful Repose seems to capture what made Flower such a special game, it evokes such a tangible sense of catharsis and peace. My two year old son seems to respond to it in the same way I do. Beautiful piece.

For me, Kraid's theme from the original Metroid stands out to me as an exemplary piece of in game music.
It just seems to evoke a sense of peril and evil that helps to develop the awesome sense of place. The fact that it's short and looping really helps to enforce these notions.

I'll perch myself at the end of a long queue of folk hoping for a podcast on Grim Fandango. Timely too with the upcoming release of the shiny new HD version soon.

Re: Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
It feels like it's been quite some time since I finished this game but i'll not remember "Brother's" for it's sense of agency that some others may have had when they were playing it. Similarly, the emotion in the storyline didn't really set my world on fire either, likely because constant ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Couldn't agree less. Victory road requires perfect control, no mid level flag, no mushrooms or power ups present in the level and patience and timing by the bucket load. No other level befoee this felt close to this challenge and collecting the stars and flags was blasé by comparison. I did those wi...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Just spent 5 hours solid attempting to do the approximately 90 second level "Victory Road" on Super Mario 3D world, what a jarring difficulty spike, I want to hurt the level designer. That said, I have all stars in the game, what a thrill!

Fun times. Or "call a therapist" times. Whatever  Agreed! garotting a man to death with cheese wire shouldn't be as appealing to me as it is, I feel guilt and satisfaction in equal measure. Also, my favourite 'murder' came from dropping a jerry can down a chimney in Contracts. Subtle!

Re: This week's podcast: Hitman: Blood Money (and Hitmans 1-
I'd say that the Hitman series never fails to give me a great sense of agency. I find my body coiling as 47 wraps the piano wire around his hands and creeps towards a victim. I grit my teeth together and crush my fingers into my controller as I garrotte the target. I think that this is achieved thro...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
Obvious submission, however Monkey Island and the Broken Sword games would make for great shows.
The latter of which would be a glorious opportunity to reference the loathed goat puzzle and incite the inevitable Pavlovian response of disgust/fury among the listeners.

Punch-Out! trilogy could be an interesting one - I shall add it to the list to find out if we have any fans on the team.

For consideration, some games that perhaps may be unlikely to feature as a podcast but are stunning games nonetheless:
- Canis Canem Edit
- Dragon's Dogma
- Punch Out!! Series

Just finished off the story mode if F-Zero GX on the Gamecube. Dark Souls took me about 4 weeks of casual playing. F-Zero GX took me ten years.
I feel like i've exorcised a personal demon.

Re: This week's podcast: El Shaddai: Ascension Of The Metatr
I adore this game. El Shaddai is lorded over for having art direction that is stunning and vivid, but retains a feeling of opulence and a sense of faith that befits the subject matter. For this reason it generates a most unique sense of place by creating a place that is utterly unrecognisable. The v...
