Love Metal Gear Solid 3. But, yes, having a the right mindset for the length of the cut scenes will help. For someone like me, I loved them. They don't go away, that's for sure.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I've only played the first Witcher game! I was gonna just go straight into the third game forever ago, but then the completist in me wouldn't allow it. But then, I found out the games follow the books, so I went and read all of those before I started Witcher 1... it's been a slow journey that's my o...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Witcher season two had me feeling guilty for not committing to the Witcher games, so I started Witcher 2 yesterday. I spent a lot of time just figuring out the combat/menus/mechanics, but I think I'm in a good spot now.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I started Shadowman Remastered last night. I remember being 13 when the game came out and being weirdly drawn to it, but I never got to play it. And at 35, I'm still drawn to it, even though I suck at 3D platformers and it has no minimap, which is going to hurt.

Re: Videogame News
I thought the gameplay of the Suicide Squad game look very reminiscent of the Sunset Overdrive, which isn't a bad thing for me.
I doubt I'll be able to run it, but Alan Wake II was exciting to hear.
And Planet of Lana and Tunic looked just great.

Stupidly got into a few new ones too. 'Dark Knights of Steel', which is essentially the justice league go Medieval in a very interesting alternate universe type affair. I like the premise. Not sure if you've read it, but if you want more Medieval DC, Demon Knights was a great, but short series. One...

Re: What's Out This Week?
Oh snap, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is out this week. I rinsed the heck out of the first game. Though, I'll probably wait a bit for the new one. I think it took some updates and DLC to get the first game to where it is. Plus, they'll be more dinos down the line.

Re: Books completed (and general book talk)
Just finished The Heroes by Joe Abercrombie. This is the 4th book I’ve read by him (first 3 being the first law trilogy) and I think he may be one of my favorite fantasy writers. I don’t often talk books so I don’t know how well regarded Abercrombie is (I do know he’s pretty famous in the genre) bu...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
I remembered a lost love for classic film noir today, and planned to watch the few I own on DVD over the next couple of weeks; The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, A Touch Of Evil, The Third Man and a few others. I also found this list, so plan to pick through some of these too: https://www.slantmaga...

Re: Videogame News
I never played San Andreas, so I guess this will be the perfect way to do it. I'll have to wait for a sale since it's the game of trilogy I'll be playing (sort of like that Castlevania Advance collection that just came out). I will say, I was not expecting the wave of nostalgia that came over me whe...

Re: Books completed (and general book talk)
Just finished Ask Iwata and thought it was brilliant. It was really interesting to contrast how Nintendo has developed over the years with their hardware in particular and the beliefs and musings of Iwata as he went through his Nintendo presidency. There was a lot of teachings in there which I thin...

Re: Books completed (and general book talk)
This is on my list to read, probably next October. I ended up reading Final Girls by Riley Sager this year. And then found out there was a book even before that called The Last Final Girl . It's becoming it's own genre. I just started My Heart Is A Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones and I think you'r...

Nice, I will give this a listen as I am desperate for help on the dating scene. Not so much the dates themselves, it's getting to the point of a date in the first place. I have had no success on both the free and paid dating apps and it's a real confidence destroyer when you try your best and never...
