Re: What's Out This Week?
So the Double Dragon & Kunio Kun Retro Brawler Bundle came out in February for the PS4 and the Switch. There was an XBox One version apparently released in Japan, but it didn't make it over here, for whatever reason. I own a X1 but my PS4 is a shared PS4, so I was hesitant to buy the bundle- plu...

Re: Our next podcast recording (19.4.20) - 415: Days Gone
I've been struggling to come up with more things to say about Days Gone (the above was written back in December). Not because I don't have anything to say, but because the idea of a world ravaged by an outbreak where everyone is cut off from each other, and said plague is evolving and even the smart...

Re: Our next podcast recording (19.4.20) - 415: Days Gone
Since there are no thoughts so far I'll repurpose some stuff I wrote elsewhere in the forum and add additional thoughts later: I'll be the first to admit this game has problems. It's VERY long, for one thing, which is why I played it on Easy. It's actually GOT story, but it holds a lot of it behind ...

Dead Space 2 - "Severed"- well, THIS wrapped itself up almost immediately. Severed starts with a guy chasing his kidnapped pregnant wife, who's been tagged as a person of interest by the Unitologists. The Wellers were the protagonists of Dead Space Extraction, which I never got the chance...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Batman: The Telltale Series - I'd played through this long ago, but with the new Shadows mode I decided to give it another spin. And I have to say, given the relentlessly bleak and gruesome tone of this game, the Shadows mode works splendidly. The Telltale Batman games have a lot of really neat ide...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I played about 15 hours of the Assassin's Creed Odyssey trilogy and I had the same reaction to it as I did RDR2: It was like it will never, ever end, but I can't stop playing it.

Re: Yakuza 0
It appears I'm too late to weigh in for the podcast discussion but perhaps that's for the best- I had a whole rant about the game's plot that was way too rambly (Like for example how Majima and Sagawa were hired to kill Makoto... but they expected Majima to be too much of a softy to do it, which wou...

Re: All things Mega Man
Switching gears for a bit, has anyone read the Archie Mega Man comic book series from Sonic the Hedgehog mastermind Ian Flynn and drawn by various artists? (Does anyone remember the short lived 2003 series from the equally short lived Dreamwave productions?) It's actually really quite good. To be up...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Ratchet & Clank the 2002 original is an interesting one to go back to. Well, to play for the first time. I'd heard a lot of people say the remake is rubbish compared to this. But although the remakes story definitely suffers from being tied to the movie, I would still say it's far and away supe...

Afterparty - Night School's follow up to Oxenfree isn't nearly as polished or interesting as its predecessor, but it's still a good game. Vapid college pals Lola (Janina Gavankar) and Milo (Khoi Dao) are getting wasted at a party when they realize they're actually not a a party but instead, in- HEL...

Dameon Clarke's MUCH better in this game than he is in Borderlands 2, by the way.

Re: Tales from the Borderlands
Finished the rest of the play through I started so I could contribute to the podcast- it was much better than I remember, now that the damn thing has been patched. I found myself getting surprisingly emotional at parts. One bizarre thing is I wound up with the exact same lineup of Allies this time- ...

Re: Our next-but-one podcast recording (23.2.20) - 408: Tales from the Borderlands
Played a bunch of this again in the past few days, hopefully I'm not too late: The Borderlands games are, in my opinion, pretty darn good shooters, with vivid characters and a varied game world. However, the chief weakness of the series has always been its writing- its plotting is oftentimes sloppy ...

I would join in on this RDR2 discussion since i Beat it recently but I made a massive post in its own thread for the podcast (which I Hope came in on time for the guys to read on the show, as I have not listened to it yet).

Can Androids Pray: Blue - A few weeks ago I happened to come across this- an itch.io narrative game that somehow wound up on XBox One, snuck onto the platform on Christmas Eve. Written by Xalavier Nelson Jr. and designed by Natalie Clayton, with music by Priscilla Snow. Despite it being only 20 min...

Re: Our next podcast recording (17.1.20) - 401: Red Dead Redemption II
Red Dead Redemption 2 manages to be exhilarating and frustrating simultaneously, which is no small feat, but RockStar Games' open worlds do often have that effect on the player. It also draws into sharp relief how prequels can be a mixed bag and more often than not aren't worth it. As someone else ...

Re: Demon's Tilt
Played a bit of this today. It was really neat, felt less like Pinball FX or "realistic" pinball games and more like the kind of thing I used to play on PC, it looks like a small dev team but you can tell it's a labor of love. the 80s metal aesthetic is very welcoming. Although I find it f...

The Last of Us Remastered - thanks, PlayStation Plus! So, after six years, I finally get to play this game. I just never got around to it, I was an Xbox guy in the previous generation. And the opening sequence is one of the finest and most terrifying sequences I have every played in a game. It's im...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Superman Returns: The Videogame - complete this a few weeks back on the 360. The infamous tornado fight is actually kind of fun, even though it's a ridiculous way to end the game. I think it's bizarre that Tiburon couldn't find a way to incorporate the big continent lifting set piece into the final...
