Re: Videogame News
It'll be interesting to see how they review, that's for sure. Fascinating games, incredibly ambitious, but I found them virtually no fun to play now, sadly. I'm always happy to see classics re-released though, even if I don't want to play them myself - it's important for the history of the medium. ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I agree with everyone - Telltale are generally being extremely dickish with their "physical" releases that have no content on the disc.
As for me, playing the Wipeout Omega collection. It is fantastic!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Finishing off my trifecta of Telltale games and finishing Game of Thrones today.
Not pleased *at all* about the last chapter being downloadable.
If Telltale don't start putting the full game on the disc again, I won't be buying TT games at all.
Tired of them trying to sell me a blank disc.

Re: When's Mahvel? (The Marvel vs. Capcom thread)
I managed to find a copy of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for PS4 yesterday. I'll be sticking with this for the time being.
I do not like the MCU emphasis in the new game. Hopefully they'll remedy this in the "Ultimate" or whatever it's called version that comes out a year later.

Re: Your favorite game trailers
While not strictly a trailer per se, I remember watching this on gametrailers.com back in the day and being absolutely blown away. I still don't think it's been topped as an opening movie or an ad to say "hey, buy this game".

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast
I really don't want to add to your already enormous pile......but I have to ask. Are any of the D&D goldbox games by SSI (Pool of Radiance, Champions of Krynn) etc. on there? How about the Bard's Tale series? Phantasie? Defender of the Crown? I don't know if any of you had C64s or played on them...

Re: Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
I went into Soul Reaver with a cursory knowledge of the first game. I was blown away by the sheer spectacle of it. I loved the visual design of the characters, the music and the voice acting, which all created a specific, Gothic mood that wasn't in a lot of games at the time. The aesthetic of an alm...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
I saw Alien Covenant today. Trust me when I say don't bother. I haven't seen it, but I assume you've gained an even greater appreciation for the first two movies? It has been getting some pretty mixed reviews... I can count at least one major plot issue with the film. It changes the nature of the A...

Re: Games completed 2017
Thanks Todinho, I didn't know about Murata and Fukushima.
I don't mind MGS4. It's certainly not as bad as ZOE 1 & 2. As for the ending the staff forbade, are you talking about Snake killing himself?

I saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2 tonight and it was quite fun. Kurt Russell was quite good and I liked the cosmic weirdness of it.

Re: Games completed 2017
Yeah ZOE 1 is not that great but ZOE 2 is great I assure you so dont let your experience with 1 make not play the sequel it's an improvement in literally everyway. I went in with an open mind......but neither game is really that great. The voice acting is okay, but the dialogue is absolutely atroci...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I'm finishing up SMT IV Apocalypse....but the hinge on my 3ds broke on Saturday. I'm in Asia so it's not like I can just go buy a new one, because it's region locked. :/ And of course my copies of Dragon Quest 7 and 8 showed up today. So now I'm trying to choose between Nier, Danganronpa (PS4), Rise...

Re: Our next but one podcast recording (27.4.17) Mad Max
I don't play a ton of open world games like this but I found this on sale two weeks after it was out and thought, "Why not?" Mad Max is a quintessential "B" game. It's not as stylish as blockbuster games, it's not as polished as "Triple A" games, but it does what it doe...
