Re: Videogame Deals

And when you want to take a rest from blowing things up, you can take in some rather nice views!

Re: Anyone know much about ripping audio from video etc?

Audacity is still the best free audio editor around to chop things up once you've ripped (as far as I know).

Re: You're in the right place

Awesome! Congrats on being featured. The quality and effort to make the shows deep but still very easy to listen to is no mean feat. The back catalogue is developing into quite an audio encyclepedia of games to be proud of!

Re: PC Build Advice

Hmm, this might be where my knowledge gets limited! I basically thought it was a bit of a free for all, which is why tearing can sometimes be an issue, because the frames in the game don't line up with the refresh rate of the monitor. V-sync counters that by ensuring they happen at the same time (at...

Re: PC Build Advice

Well, disclaimer that I'm no expert, but I have thought about this before too! So actually with a frame counter you should see numbers above 60 even if your screen runs at 60hz. You just don't see them all I think. You would have to limit the frames in software somehow for the number to be capped li...

Re: History thread!

Bitter Lake is a good one. It is a documentary film on BBC iPlayer, made by Adam Curtis. I really love his style, stark but weirdly beautiful. (Covers the recent history of Afghanistan and the politics of the situation.)

Re: General Election 2015

I think if UKIP got someone in charge who wasn't an absolute tit, they'd be potentially really dangerous. Don't worry, it is a requirement for the job ;) My frustration comes from the fact that there was no decent opposition. Not just in the run up to the election, but for the whole term. Cameron i...

Re: Archiving your 360 XBLA games / digital content

Yeah, you used to be able to put in a USB memory stick up to a certain size, but the 'up to 2TB' drive was only rolled out a few days back. Would have been much better if they had done that earlier in the console's life, but at least it is a way for collectors to have a local copy of their 360 conte...

Archiving your 360 XBLA games / digital content

I haven't moved over to the new consoles yet, so I'm still getting the updates pushed to 360 and noticed an interesting feature on the latest one. Now you can plug in a drive up to 2TB drive, which is quite a significant upgrade to the 32gb USB sticks that were supported before! So it does at least ...

Re: Your gaming revelations & confessions

I think the first Mass Effect game is the best in the series. (It is, you know!) I'm also in the club that never owned a Nintendo console. Actually, I didn't get a console until the PSOne redesign in about 2000, then a 360 in 2009!! I've mostly played PC games, so you can imagine the list of big nam...

I've always been into playing cards and card tricks. Despite annoying my college friends years ago with constant 'take a card' requests, I got the nickname Magic Joe and it seems to have stuck around in various forms!

I noticed quite a few fighting games on sale in the PS Store. I picked up Street Fighter Alpha 3 (PSP) to have on my Vita for £1.60, I'm not an expert but it seems a decent version!
