Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Ok, so I really want to like The Banner Saga, but I'm having the same problem I have in every strategy game ever. I just can't see the strategy. All I do is stand there trading blows and the person with the highest numbers wins. I'm only on like the third battle. It's the battle which teaches you ab...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I started The Banner Saga on my phone. It's ok. Not sure if I really like it or not yet.

Re: How much have you spent on Steam?
I sold all my other consoles except PS4 and ploughed the money back into the Switch eShop and I am stockpiling like crazy before we (hopefully) start a family. I also gave up smoking so I have about £300 a month extra which I feel I can therefore waste on games I seldom play instead of putting it t...

Cashback/Survey Apps
Ok so there are millions of these things nowadays, but I can heartily recommend Google Opinion Rewards for Android. It's an official Google app, and every couple of days it'll throw a two or three question survey at you based on places you've been. It'll literally be, 'Have you been to this shop. Wh...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
VLR was given away on PS+ years back, and as someone who has only ever played 999 from the series I'm looking forward to being able to finish the series at some point.

Re: The World Cup 2018
This is probably the most interesting World Cup I can ever remember, and I've been watching them since Mexico 86. I've never seen so many upsets before!

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
July 2018 PS+ games are:
Absolver (PS4)
Heavy Rain (PS4)
Rayman 3 HD (PS3)
Extreme Exorcism (PS3)
Space Overlords (PS Vita + PS4)
Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma (PS Vita)
Pleased with those. Two PS4 games I wanted to play and one for the Vita. Good month!

Re: 327: Mario Kart: Super Circuit
It's never going to be anyone's favourite Mario Kart, but as the first handheld version of the game available, Super Circuit totally won me over at the time. Graphically it looked great, and it played fantastic too. Man, it was Mario Kart in my pocket! The Gameboy Advance is one of my all time favor...

Re: New Mobile Phone tech - Does anyone still care?
I love getting a new phone, and each time I upgrade I'm excited to see what I can use it to emulate and see what the new screens and graphical prowess are. Yeah, I spend a lot more time with my phone than any other gadget I own so I like to keep updated.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Yeah the updated version is on PS4 now I think too. I enjoyed it on Vita but can't see me ever wanting to play it not on a handheld. I never quite got in to it properly, always felt a bit limited with what you could achieve.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Downloaded a game to my mobile phone called World Soccer King on my break today. Its quite fun! Like a version of Subbuteo on your phone, nice graphics and you get new players in card packs like FIFA ultimate team. Worth a look, it's free.

Re: How much have you spent on Steam?
As a kid, I used to absolutely love a game on my Amstrad called Silent Service, in which you commanded a submarine during WW2. It seemed like such a deep and involved simulation when I was younger.
I don't suppose that's the game you bought is it!?

You actually had me for a second then!
EDIT: Also, Ive spent over 100 hours with that game and never found the Great Scythe. It looks like a great dex weapon, which is what I tend to build around usually. I will be seeking that out next play though!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I'm really enjoying The Journey in FIFA 17. Something must be right, because I felt genuine resentment towards the manager for not picking me in the starting XI after I came on at half time and scored two goals with an assist! On loan to Newcastle now and killing it. Perhaps I ought to change the di...

Re: Our next podcast recording (23.6.18) - 325: Shovel Knight
I really enjoyed this game. A real love letter to the classic 8bit era of platform action games. I remember it being really tricky in places too, that boss rush towards the end of the game almost had me throwing my Vita up the wall, but I stuck with it and got through in the end. I would definitely ...
