Re: What's Out This Week?

It's actually not that bad, I was mostly joking. Nevertheless, I slid my 360 copy down a grid because I couldn't bring myself to sell it on eBay and I simply didn't want it in the house. The artwork is unacceptable to me.

Re: What's Out This Week?

Top tier Cave bullet hell, Espgaluda 2 Black Label, is also coming out this week on September 9th. Might only be on the Japanese eShop but it's a no brainer, one of the top ten Cave games of all time. Brief update, this is another great port, just as with Mushihimesama. Runs exactly like the 360 ve...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm currently up to chapter five on Bayonetta 2 for Switch. Interested to know what the general consensus is for this game, as whilst I'm really enjoying it, and it's a great action game, I don't think it's as good as the first. That was my impression, as well. Very colourful and flashy and OTT but...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm really struggling to stick with anything right now. Games, TV, books, comics... Keep starting new things and getting bored of them really quickly. I've been like this quite a bit over the last year or so. With games, I've found that the more I push it, the more I lose interest. I have a few tha...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

The Night Is Short, Walk On Girl I'll watch it again soon. I've also just seen it's on Netflix UK, apparently. It doesn't appear to be, but I've earmarked it for a watch if I can find a copy streaming anywhere now or in the future - sounds interesting! Ah, bugger, sorry about that. Must be Netflix ...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Been watching quite a few things recently as my wife has broken up for the summer so we've been putting our feet up, cranking the fans and taking it in turns to pick the following: Raw A gory but oddly touching French horror about, hmm, appetites. It's set around a veterinary school during Fresher's...

Re: What's Out This Week?

I wouldn't massively recommend the Cotton Reboot to anyone who's interested. It's a very run of the mill shmup. If your looking for something in the genre on Switch, get Mushihimesama off the JPN eShop. A proper Cave bullet hell and a very good port.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

But yeah I loved both of them actually, makes me want to watch more horrors like this if anyone has any reccs! I've not seen Hereditary but I've got a couple of companion pieces to Midsommar for you. First is The Ballad of Narayama , which won the Palme d'Or in 1983. It's set in 19th century Japan ...

Re: The Last of Us Part II

Really interesting issue this one, and I was slightly surprised that TQ's main reservations did seem to come down to: a) not the game I wanted in focus or tone b) not the game I wanted under the circumstances I mean no reduction or disrespect but neither of these are a failing of the game (nor of th...

Never in doubt (apart from the time after they scored until we scored). Absolutely bossed them, though.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

If Nintendo's first-party games this gen had run with rock solid performance, I wouldn't be bothered by this pointless revision. As it is, from day one, the system has been hampered by the hardware, both in terms of frame rates and resolution and the physical deficiencies of the Joycons and the Blue...

Re: The Euro 2020 Thread

That was the most relaxed, enjoyable England knock out game I've ever seen. They managed the game superbly well. Great to see that we've still got the set pieces in the back pocket, as well. Yes, we could be more expansive and attack with more freedom and so on but there's a solidity, calmness and f...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

It is took me about three years to get round to just mainlining it and I ended up having a ball. It builds really nicely in terms of environments and enemies but it does feel like you're in first gear for ages if you potter around doing all the side quests and stuff. I thought it was all snowy lands...

Re: The Euro 2020 Thread

I would have preferred Kane to get injured so Southgate would have had an easy excuse to start DCL. This currently has Rooney carrying a niggle mid-2000s vibes all over it. Love all the attacking midfielders, though, and I feel like DCL would link up better with them. Kane looks like he's playing a ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart I don't know the series at all really, but I'm enjoying this as a mindless Saturday morning-style romp. I don't especially like this kind of Dreamworks/Pixar art style in movies, but it looks very impressive in motion - very colourful and smooth and snappy. I wouldn't ...

Re: E3 2021 - Schedule and discussion thread

So if you almost exclusively play quasi-open world third person action games you're all set, is what you're saying. I know thats what a lot of people like, and fair play to them, but all the big hyped games shown at e3 just look a little bit samey from where I'm sitting. It makes me appreciat...

Re: E3 2021 - Schedule and discussion thread

I would say that the first nine months of the PS5 are up there with the best launch periods I've experienced, and a hell of an improvement on the PS3 or PS4, never mind the last couple of Xboxes. Demon's Souls Miles Morales Returnal Ratchet and Clank WRC9 Astrobot Even disregarding Astro as a tech d...

Mushi runs great, for info. Feels spot on, very responsive.

No lag issues here.
