Re: All things Achievements, Trophies, Meta
I only found myself working acitvely towards achievements in one game. World of Warcraft. I specifically remember this one "Friend or Fowl - kill 15 turkeys in 3 minutes". I like those silly achis that make me do what I usually don't do in games (unless its pvp :> ).

Re: Dead Cells
A bit late to the party since you decided to give it a go but ill throw my 2 euro cents into the mix ;) There's one significant in my opinion aspect fo this game that makes upcoming deaths a bit less frustrating. You don't lose whole progress. During your runs, you gather blue orbs that you can use ...

Re: Videogame News
If you choose to look at it politically then this was an empowering moment the moment it all started. It was only a matter of. No matter the outcome, one side would gloat over the other as it usually is with a petty political "debate". I'm sure you dont have to have be left to get that kin...

Re: Videogame News
But isn't Jessica Price in this moment also the worst of the internet? Why no one seems to care about people who were affected by it in the first place like Deroir or INKS (yes she managed to insult multiple GW2 content creators who were nothing but respectful). Common decency should work both ways....

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Couple of days ago i played and finished Quarantine Circular, a new game by Mike Bithell (creator of that pretentious game about talking rectangles as he describes himself ;) ). Its really fun dialogue-driven adventure short (around 2 hours long). I also started playing Dishonored 2 DLC that I picke...

Re: Star Wars
I have to disagree with Todinho. I watched it yesterday without any expectations and in the end, was very pleased with how it turned out. There were maybe two callbacks that were really heavy-handed. Others were often well hidden or done without huge "see what I did there" sign. The cast w...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Yes, that was general consensus, but i think it says more about the first game rather than its successor. W_D was considered to be extremely dull and bleak, while the second one is more colorful, goofy and playful. Unfortunately, I still couldn't get into it, mostly cause characters and the setting ...

Re: What's Out This Week?
There was a release two days ago that went totally under my radar (this is what staying off the twitter does to you :P). Mike Bithell released his new experimental short called Quarantine Circular. I assume it has a similar premise to his earlier Subsurface Circular which was basically a text advent...

Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda
I actually agree with Sub-Zero. Its often problem with games that promise interstellar scale of epicness but you get a corridor game for the most part. Potential is definitely there but outside fo couple great races (basically all main races are really well done) this galaxy is empty and stories tol...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I've been playing Pillars of Eternity 2 for a couple of days. I really enjoy it. It's surprisingly unique. In addition to expected Baldurs Gate like RPG, you get a significant portion of Pirates! and choose your own adventure type of game.

Re: What's Out This Week?
I took the alternative route and preordered State of Decay 2. I had a lot of fun with first one, and it's a half-price game so it made the decision much easier. I'll probably wait for Detroit to go on sale before ill buy it.

Re: All things God of War
The Lake of the Nine should have had, in my opinion, a subtle and atmospheric take on a theme we already identify with the father-son relationship, given that we may often stay there and punt around listening to stories of their respective homelands. I think this was a deliberate choice. They threw...

Re: All things God of War
Totally agree on the music part. It's totally forgettable. I cant remember a single tune from it. In a way, it totally works, cause that game is in part about Kratos trying to find his peace with what he's done in the past. But how cool would be if his theme from previous games would play when he go...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I bought Frostpunk 3 hours ago. I'm not usually biggest strategy fan, but this got me really hooked. I really like how they added an interesting layer of actions and events that build this world and make all those economic gameplay decisions a little bit more soul to what would be just another effic...

Re: All things God of War
Combat grew on me as well. I just think it took getting used to new controls and unlocking couple of skills which made it more fluid for me. Right now I'm having a blast. What surprised me, even more, is how I like to watch the development of the relationship between Kratos and his boy. Its really w...

Re: All things God of War
You do have cute little instant 180 on d-pad down, but because I need to move my thumb from stick to do that it's not that intuitive to me. Just fyi, you can change it to LS down + L3 in the options, which is somewhat more intuitive. I actually changed that before reading your response and it makes...

Re: All things God of War
I'm gonna wait a couple of days before discussing the story. No point in "discussing" it if most of the people just started ;) I'm on a fence with combat as well. Combat controls are not what i expected. Strangest choice is strafing in left/right instead just moving in given direction (lik...
