Definitely interested in that. I never played a Devil May Cry before other than the DMC reboot from a few years ago (which I loved). Big fan of the original God Of War games too, and the bit of Bayonetta I played seemed fun. This looks like something I'd enjoy, but I'm a bit loathe to jump in at number 5, as is my curse...

I have to say the gameplay they've shown off at Gamescom has made the game look a lot better than I feared it might. I'm still pretty cautious about it, but at least now there's something that's encouraging about it.

Not sure on this idea of having the different arms you switch between break regularly though. That seems like it could be very annoying, and not letting you have access to certain functions when you really need them.

I really hope they release this demo for us to download at some point though, hopefully sooner rather than later. It looks like they've already got that level all polished up, and I really want to get my hands on it myself.

Unexpected Langrisser remakes for Switch and PS4!

https://gematsu.com/2018/08/langrisser- ... ps4-switch

Kadokawa games making them

The games are being fully remade, from graphics to systems, and optimized to be easier to play for newcomers. Character designs are completely new, the scenario is fully voiced, and the UI is being optimized. Battles also have cut-ins, and new elements not included in the original games will be added.

Full reveal on the 29th

I've never played any Langrisser games, but as a Fire Emblem fan they have been on my radar for quite some time. Looking forward to them!

Very unfortunate news. It's only the PC version being mentioned, but those of you interested in The Last Remnant might want to grab it now before it's too late.

Interesting...

This worries me a little, though:

"Beautiful graphics fully hand-drawn animated by the studio behind Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap."

As long as its not a similar style! It really needs to look exactly like the old ones to retain any feeling of the series, in my opinion.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Double Dragon 4, Streets of Rage 4...

They did fine work with Wonder Boy though so we’ll see.

I didn't realise that SoR 4 link showed screenshots. I can't deny it looks gorgeous, I'm a sucker for that bold cell shaded look usually, but I'm not sure about it for this game. It does look gorgeous though.

There’s a video announcement for it out there on YouTube as well if you want to see it moving. I could stand to see more of the in-game animation, but I do like the developers French comic book aesthetic (it’s one I’d love to see more of in games in general)

Yeah, speaking of the French comic book look, I'd love to see XIII get a rerelease.

Not convinced, and sounds like I'm in the minority about the art style - doesn't look like Streets Of Rage to me. Should have been really high quality pixel art with lovely animation.

Or maybe I'm just being grumpy and should be delighted that they're making another one at all...

Some early announcements ahead of TGS have popped up, with some looking pretty interesting.

Project Judge. A new game from the Yakuza devs, set in the same world but part of a different series. Looks like an adventure/detective game where you also get in to a few fist fights in the usual Yakuza fashion.

Project Awakening. An action RPG from Cygames, as part of their big push in to AAA console development. Looks pretty cool, with a lot of potential, but the company behind it has a legacy of mobile games with bad business models, so we'll have to wait and see how this one pans out.

New trailer for Deracine, From Software's VR game.

Samurai Spirits. Seemingly a new entry in the Samurai Showdown series.

And a remaster for Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles.

Yeah, I'm genuinely surprised how how it's taken for there to be an new Samurai Spirits/Shodown game, considering the amount of other fighters are still kicking on. I'll keep one curious eye out for that one...

GameCube games on the Switch, well I never.

The remaster is neat, although I do wonder what this does for any sort VC system, although this is a Square game and I'd not expect this sort of thing to be a VC system and would have more chance as a re-master.

Now where can I plug my link cables into my Switch.....
