It will have all been filtered, but ultimately it will be stunning. As a lot of you know, I've been watching a lot of Red Dead Redemption as my father has been playing a lot of it and despite being 3 years old it still looks as good as any other game out there, so with all the things learned in how to squeeze out even more, I'm sure it'll look sensational.
The biggest surprise was the frame rate when driving the cars, both during the day and night. I'd be stunned if it maintained *that* frame rate though.

It was nice to see the Max Payne 3 influence in the shooting too.

Game Informer Editor-in-Chief Andy McNamara says he's seen the game running on PS3.

The internet appears to be full of doubting Thomas' these days!

They've been citing that there's no way it this good based on what GTAIV looked like, seemingly forgetful of the fact that since 2008 Rockstar have been behind Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire and Max Payne - with each game showing an increased ability to get the most out of the hardware (in particular the PS3).

Yeah, I'm with you. Max Payne 3 looks incredible on PS3, and, GTA V looks like it's using a lot of similar tech. Character models, specifically, look straight out of MP3, as well as the shooting.

Arguably the best looking game of the generation. Right up there at least. It's stunning.

The last is "GTADev18", but to me it looks like there's a "GTADev19" ?

Yeah someone else pointed out that there's 18 dots on the minimap but didn't actually include themselves in the count.

What an amazing looking trailer. Obviously it's edited to look as cinematic as possible, but if Rockstar keep up the same level of polish for the final release it is going to be one mighty fine looking game. I'm really interested to see how the character switching works; if you're in the middle of a five star police pursuit what is to stop you from just switching to another character and instantly wiping it out?

And while normally I'm not that interested, those few seconds of multi-player at the end had me jumping out of my chair. I've never played much of Rockstar's previous online modes, so I'll probably give it more of a go for GTAV

Well, apparently all the footage on that trailer is from the PS3 version of the game.

As this post on Rockstargames.com states
Just to clarify for those asking, this particular video was captured with footage from the PS3 version of the game.

If everything Rock* claims is true this could be the biggest game ever.
I do wonder if the hype is getting a bit much. Apparently you can do pretty much everything.

And even do the little things:

Car insurance, playing the stock market, tennis, SCUBA diving, going on bus routes...
Y'know, the important things in a crime game.

Every time I'm on YouTube I see a new advert showing how epic the game is.
For the first time in my life, Im tempted to *gasp* pre order!

Its all getting too much for me. I might need a sit down.

I'm now on ownership of my... 7th copy of GTA 4? Going to finish it this time, determined.

So, what platform are we going with?

I'm grabbing (shocker!) the PS3 version. Let's get a crew going.

I just can't get into this at all. Its so boring, all I ever seem to do is drive round with some pretty bad car mechanics to do boring jobs for one character, finish it, then do more. Only character I've liked so far is little jacob.

How far did you get the previous 6 times? I have to admit the driving mechanics made this the one gta where I simply didn't feel like going off on a rampage against the cops but it didn't put me off the main storyline.

Just persist a bit, it is a great game. It's a hard transition from san andreas and the best is yet to come. Failing that treat yourself to the ballad of gay tony if you want a bit of variety!
