Handheld PC?

Post by Alex79 »

Basically, is there anything that'll let you play PC games in a hand held device? I know you can get super small laptop/notebooks etc but even they're not really what I'm thinking of. I wondered about Windows tablets. Do they run actual Windows, as in would they play games from GoG and Steam etc? Anyone know of anything like that?

Not that I'm aware of. The closest thing is probably a handheld device that streams from your PC, like the Nvidia Shield.

On the tablets thing, I think the Windows ones (as well as Windows phones) run a version of Windows 8. But the only games you can get on those are the usual smartphone-type thing.

With some types of phones/tablets you can install an emulator and run old DOS games, but I wouldn't know about Windows game, or anything remotely modern.

Not yet, but I remember seeing this a while back:

I don't think anything other than that trailer ever happened, but maybe someone will do something like it one day!
