Re: All things Resident Evil

I'm interested that Capcom are going for this, as I understand that it takes a lot of resources to update these games with pre-rendered backgrounds (one of the many reasons why a Final Fantasy 7 remake hasn't yet happened). I loved the (original?) on the Gamecube, and while I'll never complain about making a classic game accessible for a new generation of gamers, my biggest hope is that this inspires interest in a 'proper' scary Resident Evil game again.

I hope this is a massive success. It'll prove, if done right, that the old school style of horror games can still work in todays market.

RE2make... *drool*

Yes!To this day this is one of the only RE games I never played, which is a crime since it's considered by many to be the best one,and especially after RE6 this maybe the ray of hope I was hoping for.I want those 2D backgrounds, fixed camera and tank controls back, please let this(and Evil Within because Mikami deserves it) be a sucess so we can have that type of survival horror back!

It made me buy a gamecube, it's very very good. Interesting to see how it's aged though.

It is absolute genius, the way they handled that. Prime for a comeback!

It would have been weirder if you said something like "I love me a Jill sandwich" or something equally cringe-worthy.

Going to pick up Revelations now, I've been playing Resi 1 on the vita and fancy some classic gameplay.

Funny thing happened on the vita version of Resi 1 though

I think that was one of the things Capcom changed slightly for the Director's Cut version (which is the one that's available on PSN).

Just had a look on the Vita and you can get all 3 original resident evil for £11.99 is it worth it?

That's what I bought, worth it for me as I've not replayed 2 or 3 for years.

I played it on the Vita earlier this year, as RE doesn't rely so much on the back shoulder buttons of the Dual Shock for the first iterations and as the emulation is pretty solid it is a good experience. The best way to play? Maybe not, but perfectly serviceable.
