Bethesda has listened to the fans about the lack of colour in the new DOOM and released some new screenshots.

I dont know how i feel about that oldschool reboot. I'm just afraid its gonna be one of those "its an oldschool game but new" so neither new nor old ...

Wow, those screen shots look great.

I too played the Alpha and enjoyed it a lot. It felt reassuringly familiar but fresh at the same time.

John Romero has created a new level for the original Doom. This should be interesting! :D

I managed to snag myself a Limited Edition version of Doom from Game for Xbox One.

Comes with a Revenant Statue.

I did see that and yes, it is mightily impressive. Still a bit of a stinger on my wallet... but man, I do love a Revenant!

I'm a sucker for things like this. Especially games/genres that I hold dear.

Going straight on my desk at work he is.

The DOOM twitter account has revealed a poll for what reversible sleeve should they use for the games physical release. Personally I say get rid of the shit one and use them both!

Option A)

Option B)

Yeah, that's a tough choice. Initially I went straight to the reworking of the original artwork, but there's something alluring about those demonic red eyes. :-)

So, I went for the Thy Flesh Consumed version.

It does look a bit death metal but for those that know, its an awesome print.

The classic rework does look excellent mind you, either way we win in the long run.

Problem with that, if you think about it, is that one of the sides will have to have all the game details, words, screenshots, age ratings and other gumph all over it, so it will spoil the artwork.

By having the original naff one on the front, it can carry all that rubbish which would make the reversible side clean, fresh and looking fantastic ;) .

Well, the red one wins, unsurprisingly! Reversing my sleeve straight away!

Soon.

I'm looking forward to getting into the story with this.

I've purposely avoided as much noise as I can for this.

Can't wait.
