Good thinking, dez!

Time to start planning my daft sleep schedule around watching these towering monuments to cringing awfulness. I love 'em!

After playing Sea of Thieves, I'm now really intrigued to hear more about Ubisoft's Skull & Bones.

At the time of the reveal at E3 last year I dismissed it as a cash-in, combining the nautical combat loop already established in several Assassin's Creed entries with the hype around Sea of Thieves.

But now having observed the reactions to Sea of Thieves, there is clearly a significant audience ready to play an online multiplayer, pirate themed game with a little more structure and progression than Rare intended to provide. Skull & Bones could plug that gap potentially.

I still don't think it will light the world on fire, but it could enjoy a similar level of interest as For Honor at least.

Newly announced are the Square Enix and Sony conference times. We're looking at 18.00 on Monday 11th for Squeenix, and the usual 02.00 slot in the small, wee hours of Monday night/Tuesday morning for Sony. Those two, therefore, sandwich the Ubisoft conference, making for a fun-filled evening!

Oh, and just of note for those on the forum who aren't in the UK. Those times, and the ones in dezm0nd's original post are all in current British time, BST (GMT+1/UTC+1). See the IGN link for a few other time zones, or adjust as necessary.

Sadly, this is a facet of conferences being announced before the clocks change both here and elsewhere. IGN aren't alone in listing start times in winter time zones, and having to adjust later.

It's the perfect opportunity to wow your BBQ colleagues by whipping out the Switch and watching the Direct right there and then like the beautiful people in the Switch adverts! Called in and given a promotion the next day, no doubt about it. :D

I'd be silly not too really.

Lot of chat bubbling under about SMO2 vs SMO DLC. I'd personally prefer them to go the Galaxy 2 route.

I'd also like some BotW Hyrule Warriors DLC, not that the game needs any more game but still.

Demon's Souls remaster chat seems to have dropped off a bit but I'd love that so much. The Dark Souls Remastered experience has really been wonderful and opened my eyes to how much of a breath of life it would bring Demon's, a game which most people probably never played with a very populated player base. I also just love the idea of having all the Soulsborne games in one place.

Pokemon I don't give a shit but if it sells another ten million Switcheroos, hopefully that'll just mean more golden eggs down the line.

Isn't every Smash game just a DX version of the previous one? Can't be the first time this trite observation has been made. Anyway, Smash DX suits me just fine. I never played much on the Wii U because...I didn't really like it, I guess. Day one on the Switch, though.

I'd like a Xenoblade Chronicles X remake, as hinted at. I found that sci-fi world more impressive than the more fantastical XC2, which I still need to finish.

I'd love Cave to come out and say, 'here's twenty Cave games for fifty quid' or something. Or release any of them at all on Switch.

So, a load of ports and shite like that. I've no imagination.

There's been lots of rumours over a long span of time that DMC5 is supposed to show up at this E3. Certain things seem to point that happening too, so it seems likely. I'm still trying to keep my expectations in check, since you never really know with these kinds of things, and Capcom has a knack for disappointing when it comes to stuff like this. That said, please be real, please be real, please be real!

Other than that, there isn't too much I'm expecting/hoping for. Forza Horizon 4 is a certainty, so I'm looking forward to that, but it won't really be a surprise in any way. There have been rumours floating around about the setting of this game though. It's supposedly going to be set in Japan, which would be fantastic. Pretty much the ideal setting for me, given how the content and feel of the games tends to be influenced by the car culture of the setting they pick. Because of that, I'm also really hoping they bring back Toyota after being absent in FM7. I always spend most of my time in the Supra in these games, so losing that, among other cars like the GT86 and AE86, along with a couple of Lexuses (Lexi?) like the LFA and SC300, is a massive blow for me in these games. And to have those cars, which are such a big part of Japanese car culture, missing from a game that's supposed to be about that would be very disappointing. I'm kind of preparing myself for it though, since it isn't just Forza that has notably lacked Toyotas lately. It seems it's a licensing issue, where Toyota have decided they want to take their ball and go home, unless it's Gran Turismo. After the whole Porsche situation got sorted out, it would be really frustrating if we just got that again for another half-dozen years or more. Another thing in regards to the setting is that some concept art has supposedly leaked out, which show locations that look like an East-Asian metropolis, but definitely nothing in Japan. Maybe Hong Kong. And while it would be pretty cool to have a game set there, it's not Tokyo. How else am I supposed to live out my Initial D/Wangan Midnight fantasies? With all that said though, there have been rumours about the settings of these games before, even based on leaked concept art, and as far as I can remember they've always been wrong. So maybe it won't be Japan or anywhere in Asia at all.

I'm also keen to see what Nintendo has to show. Although, the stuff I most want to see, I'm doubtful will actually show up. I want more Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3. But we only got teases for those, so they're probably still a long way off, and Nintendo tend to use E3 to talk about games coming out in the same year. Maybe we'll get a more extended trailer for Metroid, but I don't think either will be 2018 releases, as much as I wish they would. But hey, I'm sure they'll have something else cool to show. I have no idea what though. I'm not really that excited about the idea of DLC for games that are already out. I want to see what new things the Switch has to show, not just more old stuff. Speaking of DLC though, I guess we might see more for the Octo Expansion. They still haven't officially announced a release date for that, so we'll probably get that. That would be kind of boring though, since that was already leaked out. Just a release date for something we already know about is kind of weak too. So there's bound to be more than that.

Apart from that, I'm not sure. More cool looking Japanese games I guess. Would like to see them continue their recent streak of good games. Maybe Sony can give us some of that. Maybe we'll finally find out what the hell Death Stranding is. Maybe Bethesda will announce Starbound. Maybe Microsoft will show some new IP that actually looks appealing. I'd put that list in increasing unlikeliness though. But something I would say is a near certainty is that Devolver's show will be a lot of fun to watch, even if I don't care much about the games themselves.

Probably my highest entry on my wish list would be a Metroid Prime collection on Switch.

Then a solid date and more info on the next Yoshi game.

Other than that, I'm ready, I'm here - show me what you got...

I’m coming into this E3 without much expectation to be honest, I’m looking to be surprised.

A release date for Soul Calibur 6 would be nice, and perhaps some info on Warriors Orochi 4. But in terms of what will be at the big shows... nothing much on my radar.

I made a joke about Crackdown 3 disappearing down a hole so it could be reworked as a Battle Royale game, so I'll get a small chunk of money from some friends if that turns out to be true.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Ghosts of Tsushima actually is, what The Last of Us Part II actually is and maybe what Death Stranding actually is.

Sad though it may be and despite my disappointment with Fallout 4, part of me is still dreaming of an Elder Scrolls 6.

I hope that Assassin's Creed box turning up in the Walmart CA leak was either fake and there isn't one coming, or it's a wildcard remake of the very first game.

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to/dreading what this Pokemon game is actually going to be, and also hoping that they port Yoshi's Woolly World so that I can finally get rid of my Wii U.

A bit like James Farley, my E3 excitement mainly boils down to guessing which conference will be the largest dumpster fire.

Doesn’t Rare (a Microsoft Game Studio) own Blast Corps?

E3 is cancelled for me because Nintendo already won.

November will be expensive...
