In Japan there's an edition with a Triforce alarm clock... hehe.

I think I'll just stay with the standard one for this game, unless the limited is the only way to get the costume packs.

Update for Mario Kart 8 coming soon in Japan. Surely won't be long before it rolls out over here.

Added new feature that can display the course map on the TV screen.

Changed default choice to "Next Race" instead of "View highlight" in the menu that appears after the race of the Grand Prix.

Remember the vehicle parts to be used later / next boot.

In "Mario Kart TV", added ability to copy & edit the highlight video of other players.

"Scoreboard" screen can be viewed and the number of characters that win-loss total number of coins, online play, etc.

Improving the stability of communication during online races.

Fixed some (other) problems.

The update will also include the previously announced Mercedes DLC pack that adds three new vehicles to the game; the brand new 'GLA' accompanied by classic models 'W25 Silver Arrow' and '300 SL Roadster'.

Some sensible tweaks there I think. Real shame about that tacky Merc dlc though.

I thought the Merc DLC was actually going to be a separate download. I didn't know there was more than the GLA in there either. Those other cars might actually be appealing to drive, although obviously still hugely tonally inconsistent.

As long as they fix the net code so I can play the damn thing online without having to take the WiiU into the DMZ on my router I'll be happy.

Seriously, only game I've had to do that with since the original Xbox days...

I'm pretty sure that isn't Kyoto canon.

That's already the case for Virtual Console GameBoy games! It's pretty cool for a few minutes

Here's a list of composers for the new 3DS Smash Bros game! I mean... does it get much better than that for one game?

Dying to play Shovel Knight on 3ds but it still has no Europe release date as far as I can see. Doubly frustrating that I now live in America but still cannot download it thanks to nintendo's archaic region locking.

Yeah, the wait is very frustrating but I do know that the devs are working really hard to get the game out to the rest of the world on the Nintendo platforms. I'll definitely get the Wii U version once it launches.

If you register both Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on Club Nintendo in the UK before a set time you can claim a free soundtrack CD

11pm, Thursday night! I suspect a firm release date and a Smash Bros for Wii U character announcement.

Spotted that the Final Fantasy Theathrythm sequel is out here on the 19th, same day as Hyrule Warriors.

Guess that'll be a pretty heavy Nintendo day for me...
