Throw on Smash Bros Ultimate, MK8D, Splatoon 2, ARMS, Tropical Freeze and they look phenomenal on the telly. In contrast, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 looks like you're playing on the 3DS.
I guess BotW looks sharper to me because I played <>50 hours of the WU version before moving on to the Switch version. It's all relative innit.

Also, another shout for the official Pro Controller being a lovely piece of kit.

clippa wrote: May 18th, 2019, 4:06 pm The pro controller is expensive but it's very good, d-pad isn't great, though you may hit on and get a half decent one if you're lucky, but everything else is spot on and the battery life is great.
Being a bit weird like that, I have every mainline edition of the official Nintendo Pro-Controller and have used each one extensively, only switching to a different one, one a new one is released.

With the launch pro-controller being the only version that I experienced D-pad issues.

Is easy to tell, just play a few games of Puyo Puyo and you'll soon notice it.

Not once has my latest Smash Bros. pad misplaced the down d-pad for left and I can't ever recollect the Spaltoon or Xenoblade pads doing it either.

Perhaps it was something Nintendo address in the later versions. I'm not saying that it's totally fixed but the later pads certainly hold a better d-pad.

So if you do go for one (you really should) maybe get one of the franchise versions.

Well, I got one of the wired pads. This one:

It's really nice! Under £25, nice weight to it, sticks and buttons feel good - I'm really pleased with it! It really does feel great to use.

Yeah, that one in the picture. I went for the Mario one but was out of stock, but I think the black looks nice anyway.

Sorry, I mis-typed that.

It was meant to say "I'm NOT saying that it's totally fixed...."

What's up with the d-pad on the pro controller? I've got one and have never noticed any issues. I got it when I got my Switch, too. I agree it's a fantastic pad.

Some dodgy inputs and diagonals on the launch Pro Controllers. Plenty of people have said they never definitively fixed it but it seems to be dependent on RNG.

Hmm. Is there a way you can test if your pad is affected? Mind you I probably should just forget this, as if mine is affected and I just haven't noticed, I'll never hear the end of it from my brain.

Mine was from a few months in (June/July 2017) and doesn’t appear to have any significant issues. Perhaps not Nintendo’s best ever d-pad but I use it all the time for Tetris, Puyo, and lots of retro stuff.

And in BONKERS NEWS:

M2 are porting ESP.Ra.De to the Switch later this year.

I don't know how promising this is but I'll keep fingers crossed for many more!

PS4 as well!

I have the Battle Garegga (2016) from this series and it’s a beautiful piece of work.

Aye, I played a lot of Tetris 99 yesterday and used the d-pad, it feels pretty good to me.

My launch Pro-Controller has a pretty dire issue with its D-Pad with a left press often reading as an up input.

The reason I suggested Puyo Puyo is that that sort of incorrect input is terminal and will stick obviously. It will be hidden more easily in fighting games or platformers day.

If you’ve not noticed it already - you’re probably good.

As far as I know, Nintendo have never acknowledged an issue, when there was sadly.

Does anyone know how to stream Switch games to Twitch like you can on PS4 & Xbox? Alternatively, how to upload video longer than 30 seconds to YouTube? Is it even possible? Thanks!

Yeah it wasnt really for any particular purpose. I just occasionally upload vids from PS4 straight to YouTube if I've done a boss in Dark Souls or whatever I feel like sharing. It's not the end of the world, just wondered if there was an option. Seems like there is ways, but not really for casual videos, you need to set out with recording in mind which isn't really what I do. Cheers anyway guys. And girls.

EDIT: Is ways? *Are ways. I passed my English, I'll have you know.
