Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Out of curiosity, does it have simple and straightforward headset audio chat as per Fortnite?

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Well, all his games have this very similar and distinctive look to them.
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
I'm not sure actually. I've not noticed any obvious chat function or icon at any point. I suspect not. I know from an AMA that they're working on community feedback at the moment and bringing in motion controls etc. Hopefully chat will come too.ratsoalbion wrote: ↑July 26th, 2018, 5:25 pm Out of curiosity, does it have simple and straightforward headset audio chat as per Fortnite?
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Nice to see new Labo Toy Cons coming out with some interesting looking software for them too.
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
That video seems to represent it in a very bad light; I watched it and went 'Whoa...'. Can't remember if that black fog was all over the place in the game but I think not.KissMammal wrote: ↑July 26th, 2018, 7:28 pm I'm sure it's a good game and all, but man is it an ugly looking one....
It's a super-excellent game. Bosses are imaginative, but reasonably easy to defeat (which suits me). The only slight knock against it is that is is quite easy to get lost in the middle section, as there is no in-game map. It's not a metroidvania as there are no barriers to progress apart from bosses, but one central section can be confusing.

Taiko no Tatsujin has been officially confirmed for Europe, which is neat.
Hopefully the drum kit accessory comes over as well.

Taiko is a day one for me. Those games are amazing.
I tried and failed to buy Warioware today, the local branch of game didn’t have it.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
The last time I went in and bought a launch game from Game, funnily enough was Rhythm Heaven, on the 3DS.
When I asked the person behind the counter they had no idea what it was and just said - No.
I asked him to ask his manager and he came over with a puzzled expression and said he'd look out back.
He came back with one of only two copies, asked what the hell it was all about - I kind of couldn't be bothered so just made a noise and handed him my debit card.
Since then I tend to get all my non-pre-order stuff from either Smyths or Argos, which works really well.
But yeah, I feel your pain man.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
I downloaded it, as with Rhythm Megamix.
I prefer to have them installed anyway tbh.
£29.85 from simplygames for a box and cart though, plus you would have had it by midweek.

Sadly my 3ds is full of Phoenix Wright that I’ll ‘get to eventually’.ratsoalbion wrote: ↑July 27th, 2018, 7:11 pm I downloaded it, as with Rhythm Megamix.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Mine has a pretty hefty Micro SD on board. I got a crazy amount of stuff installed.
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Like me carts don’t I, so I carry that burden. Mind with slight consideration, it’s a non issue.
Going back to the 3DS is great, it’s a better handheld than the Swicth in so many ways I feel.

I'd probably be 100% digital only were it not for two things; Amazon Prime's 20% pre-order discount on pretty much every title, and future potential resale value (Switch games tending to hold their value far more than the other consoles).
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Yep, believe me, I see the massive benifit of being digital.
I just love the physical media of video games, so I actively put myself out to get physical.
The pluses outweigh the negatives for me.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
I'm not bothered about owning the physical games themselves - I let go of my physical media collecting mentality a few years ago. Buying physical actually feels pretty retro to me nowadays. For me it's purely a practical thing - the physical games are much cheaper, at least for now. Also a nice bonus in that I can lend game carts to friends and vice versa, something I haven't done in probably 20 years until now with the Switch.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Oh, I also hate Nintendo's policy of not honoring downloads - the idea that if I lost my Switch I'd lose all the games on it does give mild anxiety (and it's a practice that is pretty much indefensible in this day and age).
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
I bought the Japanese PS4 version, with the drum, and it's made by Hori, and is a pretty tough little thing. I'd have to assume Hori is doing the Switch version as well, which would be reassuring.Suits wrote: ↑July 27th, 2018, 3:30 pm Taiko no Tatsujin has been officially confirmed for Europe, which is neat.

Fun little game!
Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
Um, you'd loose your saves games, yes - until the paid for service comes in in September and you'll be able to back them up.KissMammal wrote: ↑July 27th, 2018, 10:53 pm Oh, I also hate Nintendo's policy of not honoring downloads - the idea that if I lost my Switch I'd lose all the games on it does give mild anxiety (and it's a practice that is pretty much indefensible in this day and age).
But, If you lost your Switch, you'd be able to buy a new one, log in with your Nintendo account and re-download the games you'd bought.

Yes mate, it's made by Hori, lets you put bottles of water in the base to keep it sturdy .Joshihatsumitsu wrote: ↑July 27th, 2018, 11:21 pm I bought the Japanese PS4 version, with the drum, and it's made by Hori, and is a pretty tough little thing.
