I say go for it. Really liked the first game, and I’d say it’s probably worth the fiver. Super Challenege is just too tough for me, so I haven’t made any progress with it past the first world, but I’m okay putting it down. The puzzle game is... kind of there. I don’t really understand what I’m doing, so I haven’t played it much. Looks great on the TV and pops in handheld mode.

For anyone looking to get into some Sea of Thieves when it comes out, don't forget it's part of XBOX Game Pass which you can get a good 9-10 months of for the RRP of SoT.

(And with State of Decay out soon too that's me signed up ;) )

The original Dead Space for PS3 is 3.99 eurobucks on the PSN store at the moment, for anyone who, like me, was waiting for a reasonable price to replay it.

I will get past that meteor storm this time, I will.

Also for 3.99 or so - Far Cry 2 which is on the podcast schedule, everybody buy it!

And Dante's Inferno. I hear it's not as bad as it was made out to be

Bizarrely I’m playing dead space right now! I discovered it sitting in my download list on Xbox one for some reason. I don’t remember buying it.

It’s better than I remember it ever being

Dead Space buddies!

I'm looking forward to it; I had a hankering to play it about a year ago but it's always been 20 quid or so on the store. I was a different gamer when I played it first so I'm eager to see how it is now.

Strangely, the only one of the series I've finished is Dead Space 2, despite it being obviously inferior. I have 3 but haven't played it due to 2 being poor.

It’s a strange thing coming back to game years later as often they are a disappointment. The games don’t change, we do and with it our feelings towards them.

Recently resident evil 4 and now dead space have won me over far more than they did first time around. It’s probably because I’m used to mediocrity more often than not.

I do remember the second being better last time. We will see!

There’s a really good series of videos on the dead space games on Mark Brown’s ‘game makers toolkit’ if you want to examine how they declined and why that might be.
