All things The Legend of Zelda

This is where you can deliberate anything relating to videogames - past, present and future

I can only echo the sentiments of various others on here, but for the record my top three are:

A Link To The Past
Wind Waker
Ocarina of Time

In that order.

Just for info: Ocarina Master Quest came with early copies of Wind Waker but is not on the Collector's Edition disc.

Water Temple in Ocarina Of Time is possibly the best one in any game. Still have nightmares about it now! :)

The first couple of play throughs that was a bastard. Now I can pretty much do it from memory which is both incredibly awesome and incredibly sad XD

I never had trouble with the Water Temple and never "got" the ire directed at it, ever.

Link's Awakening > all the rest. Oh yes, I said it :P

On a serious note, I'm going to go against the grain and recommend playing OoT on a big screen. It didn't really click for me on the 3DS despite loving it on the N64 and Gamecube. I'm probably in the minority there but it felt more grandiose on the big screen. :)

Trying to track down a cheap copy of the game cube collection is proving to be a bit trickier. Might have to go the download option...

"cheap copy of the game cube collection" HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHA!

Every single time I saw that at my local Game Traders it was upwards of $99.

I'm late to the party but Wind Waker gets my vote followed by Ocarina of Time.

To my shame I've never played any of the early Zelda games (Sorry but I was a SEGA kid)

I think I've got copies of all of the early Zelda games; just have to get around to playing them. I started Minish Cap a few months ago and didn't do much beyond the first dungeon, though mainly because I was playing it on a livestream and resolved to only play it if it was while livestreaming. I think. I also just haven't had much time.

Ha being a Nintendo kid I had the same thoughts with the Mickey Mouse trilogy you recently covered.

Wind Waker is good but I thought it was far too easy compared to Ocarina.

Picked up the Zelda Collection for $40. also Twilight Princess for $20. (and had to get Kirby's Epic Yarn after listening to the C&R podcast.)

Shame it would have knocked off the game at the top of my "list of shame"

Same here. The text makes it obvious it's a hoax but I forgot what day it was and posted as soon as I saw the headline. AH WELL.

Sometimes these April fools moments come to life when they see how gutted people are when they realise its a "joke". Sadly, Nintendo aren't the ones to see that and just go about doing what they do! Majoras is excellent, too!

I don't really 'get' April Fools like this. There's no humour to it (outside of the body text which I've already 'fessed up to foolishly not reading after being taken in by the headline), it's just an entirely feasible story designed to disappoint people upon reading.
