ZombiU finished at around the 9 hour mark. I can see how people spend 14 hours in if you're really into scanning every room but to be honest, I have 30 friends on my list who just kept dying with loads of goodies of them I didn't feel the need to scavenge for loot.
The game is excellent with a few issues with the enemy types. The shoddy combat feels right in the situation and even though the Wii U gamepad sticks feel loose at first, it's definitely something you'll get used to.
If you like survival horror, this game is a must for you. Genuinely evoking earlier Resident Evil games where two zombies is a nightmare. The motion tracker on the gamepad is very AvP and adds to the tension tenfold.
Best Wii U launch title, which isn't hard to be fair.
Finally completed the 'main' story of Batman: Arkham city. Still plenty of do though.
Oh and add AC3 main story and ME3 to the stack. Really dont' keep that much track to be honest, but that's what I've completed, THREE GAMES THIS YEAR!!!!

Story - average, characters - average, gunplay - average (after levelling), enemy design - awful (bar bosses, which it's far too dependent on), graphics - average, sound - average, music - not memorable.
It's not awful but in a year when I haven't played many stinkers (and few potential classics) it just sort of gets stuck around in the mix.
I think my biggest problem is that I can't think of any areas of that game where it excelled beyond 'ok' for me. Shame as I was hoping for something special.

He is quite clearly mentally beat up about it, but he has to remain playable until the very end and going mental would counteract that.

Completed in the sense of all the achievements. I have a few issues with the interface (certain elements are small and fiddly) but the game is enjoyable and lends itself to pick up and play between advert breaks on the TV. It's just Boggle for those who don't know.
New Super Mario Bros. U
Thoroughly enjoyable, beautiful seeing Mario in HD and it has a lot of charm. It doesn't overplay any tricks which is great to see. I'd have liked more of a challenge but I guess that's never been the nature of Mario Bros. titles, but it doesn't stop it being fun to play. I haven't collected all the star coins for every level, may return to do this at some point. Definitely recommended.

As with every core Super Mario game since World simply completing the game is intentionally designed to be fairly straightforward. The real challenge comes in clearing every extra stage and perfecting every last World where you'll usually find some of the toughest challenges in all of gaming (see the final stars in Super Mario Galaxy 2 for great examples of this):
In the case of NSMBU it's World 9, Superstar Road. Which, true to form, looks sweat-inducingly tough even for Mario vets:

As for Hotline Miami... WOW! I'm crap at it, but I don't care. That was a whirlwind ride of trippy visuals, thumping music, ferociously fast gameplay and uncompromising violence: Pac-Man Championship Edition DX meets Super Meat Boy if you will.
Just finished Max Payne 3. Last chapter was broken for me, for some reason every time I went into cover Max stuck to the wall and wouldn't come off or fire . Overall an enjoyable game.

Yeah, I have it unlocked and have been back to collect some more of the coins.
NSBMU is so baffling to me. I didn't really find it hard but there are some fine fellows on here who think it's the hardest game of recent memory. Star Road in Mario U is fantastic and if you don't find the main game hard, this will provide a very tough yet do-able challenge.
Yeah I loved the epilogue but I was hoping for more moments where you're fighting the heavy and the lights flick on and off. It really put me off my shooting and if they started affecting on screen action because of his mental state, sort of similar to the sanity effects in Eternal Darkness then I would've enjoyed it even more.
Finished Sine Mora. Never got past level 2 of shmups but this one was highly playable and a joy to look at.
Finished Tales From Space Mutant Blobs Attack. Can see it playing better on Vita with a touch screen but overall, a fun game with a decent challenge to boot.
