I've never played a demo and thought "I need to buy this game" it's only ever put me off.

FEAR 2 had a decent one. It basically put a sequence of rooms from different points of the game, stitched them together and fed you it in a demo.

I dread to think how much development time went into it ultimately sucking resources from the final product.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Never thought I'd play a RTS again since C&C in the late 90's but this is gripping to play!

XCOM's not an RTS, it's a TBS.
Pedantry perhaps, sorry, but it means that the gameplay is very different!

I think FEAR 2 is great.

Scares the willies out of me. Although that hospital level does drag on a bit.
It didnt seem to suffer from demo-resource-usage-suckage.

One Finger Death Punch, 80 points on Xbox Indie Games.

Stop what you're doing. Go get it. Come back.

It's brilliant isnt it!!

I've been tearing my way through No More Heroes 2. Only got one fight left to do. I love the psychopathic gleefulness that is that hyperactive violence orgy of a game.

I traded some bits in yesterday and picked up the Telltale Walking Dead collection on disc. Only got a chance to play it for about 30 minutes but know I'm going to love it.

I also downloaded Hotline Miami on my Vita last night. I've already played it on the PC but having that game on a handheld is a must.

For a change of pace I'm also spending an hour or so a day on Animal Crossing New Leaf. Such a nice game to chill out to.

I'd love to hear your decisions on the game thread after an episode! :)

Don't think I mentioned this, but on Saturday my brother-in-law and I started playing Final Fantasy 13. Did about five hours, got to the point where fighting guys actually has any reward whatsoever and have almost left whatever the giant building-thing-whatever is that you start the game in. At least I think we have. I count my blessings on the fact that I saw up to the point where you can actually level up in an LP of it and have watched an LP of 13-2 almost three times over, so I was able to save us time by running away from as many pointless fights in the starting places as I could and skipping every tutorial.

It's fun enough, I suppose…but it's really not well-designed.

Playing Red Dead Redemption GOTY Edition. Had it on 360 before I got the red ring of death.

Now re-playing on PS3, oh, it's glorious. Never finished it but determined to do so now. I remember it being fairly easy for the most part.

It would also make a good podcast...

I have that podcast to thank for me replaying RDR (I never usually replay games). So worth it, thanks guys!

Dogget - I found the PS3 version to be much inferior, technically, to the Xbox one, which is a pity. Still excellent though.

Yes, there's no doubt the PS3 version is a bad port.
Still, it was free on PS+

I'll jump on the Red Dead train while its at the station. Now past the point my PS3 died at a couple of years ago. Amazing how quickly you can speed through the main story too if you stick to it - leaving Mexico has taken at least fifteen hours less. As I'm back on new ground though, so I think fannying around is on the cards again. Still an incredible game, and the soundtrack plays no small part in that.
