ODST I think, is my favourite Halo game.

It’s darker and grimier than the others, with a more engaging story I feel. I went back collected all the audio logs a while ago and found it padded out that story fantastically.

Then Halo 3 and Reach for me.

Halo 5’s MP is stella.

ODST is another that expects you to have played 2 to understand what the hell is going on. I like that one too, but I'm not as crazy about it as others. It's a neat off-shoot that tries some different things and has a really cool mood to it.

Reach is my favourite. I already have it so has it been GWG at some point?.

ODST was great too. Never played 1 or 2 finished 3, dabbled with 4 and never played 5.

I think the later ones still will be, at first it seems like it’s going to be Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2.

That's cool. There is getting less reason to go Sony next gen every time I hear more about Gamepass.

In no way justifying being an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to myself the Games With Gold for December is pretty decent:

Jurassic World Evolution is great fun.

A Plague Tale and Indivisible are both coming to gamepass soon. Both excellent games (even though I’ve already bought one of them. Some you win, some you lose)

Indeed, I've been meaning to pick up a copy of Plague Tale since it came out. As is often the case these days, it pays to procrastinate!

Ughh, now there's Game Pass achievements. When were those inflicted upon us? Is there a way to switch them off?

Do you mean quests? It's all part of the reward scheme which has surfaced but been about for ages

You can ignore them but they will eventually add up to enough points to get you a month or two free of gamepass.

'Quests', that's them. I realise the sensible and mature thing to do is just ignore them but achievements, gamer scores and all of that stuff does my bloody head it.

Some achievements seem very difficult to come by so I can see why they'd be a badge of pride for people. But other ones are so inane. I earned the 'World Class' one in PES2020 for scoring a goal after 30 minutes had passed in a game. I'd say you're all really jealous of that one.

I have the notifications switched off but they still make their way onto my home screen.

I'm starting to sound like a grumpy old man so I'll leave it at that.

Xbox Series X games showcase has been announced for next Thursday (7th May). Seems like this will kick off a flurry of next-gen reveals/announcements/whatever...

Microsoft’s Xbox chief, Phil Spencer, says the company’s next-gen Xbox Series X console is still on schedule for later this year, but game production is a little more of an unknown. In an interview with CNBC, Spencer notes that there could be “some impact” to Xbox Series X schedules, but that “the teams are doing a very good job with keeping our hardware on track” and “overall we’re in line with where we thought we would be.”

“I’d say the bigger unknown is probably the game production, just being honest,” says Spencer. “Game production is a large scale entertainment activity now, you have hundreds of people coming together, building assets, working through creative.”

Xbox game developers are now mostly working from home, creating and sharing assets that are often gigabytes in size over US home internet connections — an obvious challenge. “On the game production side, we’re learning every day,” admits Spencer. “I still feel good about it, but I also need to make sure that the security and safety of the teams is the most important thing, and not unduly push when things just aren’t ready.”

If these rumours are even close to true this is going to be one crazy generation opening!

I mean I'll be Series X personally, but for anyone happy living with 1080P gaming it will be a no brainer.

Man, if that is true that's one Hell of a bold move.

I mean they have ground to make up against Sony for sure but man, that is some serious proposition.

Mind, lets see what happens and most importantly, the games it has.

Also that little render of a XBS in white is really nice.
