Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
Broke release date already? Man, a day or two is bad but over a week surely is punishable?
Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
I'd say so. They haven't actually said which retailer it is yet, interestingly. But if its a few seperate people in different parts of the country, must be a chain?
Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
Kotaku are claiming that Nintendo have sent their boys round, and that said shops are going to find themselves in fairly deep doodoo.

Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
The offender-vendors' copies have been confiscated already apparently.
Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
Aye, one of the guys who snagged an early copy has returned it to the shop apparently. Review embargos up tomorrow.

Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
I got Y last night(probably shouldn't say that if there any nintendo employees around) hopefully start it properly today.
Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
Played a fair bit of Y today so. Wow. That is kinda what I imagined pokemon should have been like on the DS all along. Looks fantastic.

Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
Crazy, always baffled me when this happens. Remember a vendor around here releasing Goldeneye for the Nintendo 64 over a week early. It was good for me, but not particularly fair on the other vendors. They just charged about £5 more.
Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
And a little bit more.
- Got my free kanto starter. Charmander, even though I picked Fennekin anyway.
- First gym is bug, so not much challenge to be honest.
- rollerskates are awesome, and the circle pad movement is fantastic.

Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
A little self-pimpage here. I wrote this potted history of the franchise for my BT Games retro article this week. It's very much a brief overview (limited to 130 words per panel) rather than the Cane and Rinse treatment but anyway:

Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
I think I am going to sell my nearly unplayed copy of Animal Crossing, and buy the new Pokemon. I owned the first Pokemon game back in the day, and have dipped in and out of the series since.
Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
My current team. Without a doubt, my game of the year by miles. Its absolutely superb. The new online system is amazing as well, I love the idea of wondertrade, and I've actually got some good stuff through it. And the graphics. Man, talk about making stuff feel new. Along with the new cries as well, even pokemon I don't particularly like feel great.
Remember to get your torchic as well, the event is live

Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
Glad to hear that such a big Poke-fan is enjoying the new game so much.
Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
The opening of the game is specially superb. So many pokemon to choose from, your spoilt for choice. Much more so than black, or black 2 even. And the kanto starters are a thing of genius :p

Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
SO THEN: Which to buy, X or Y?!
Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
Thats a tough one. I would have to say X. If you like fire types, cos houndour/houndoom are exclusive to it, although its mega evolution item is exclusive to Y.
Re: Gotta catch 'em all things Pokémon
I went with y and I'm loving it Everything has improved so much, I'm really enjoying the exp share which has taken the grind out of the game.
Some of my pokemon are nearly level 30 but I only have the first badge. Do the badges still count as a level limit?
This is my current squad
However I can see me dropping vivillon and pikachu soon.
