Pokemon bank (the thing that lets you transfer old Pokemon to XY has been delayed indefinitely, if anyone missed it.

Pokemon Bank is so incredibly awkward to use.

Pokemon Link Battle is great value for £7.29. Highly recommended.

Yeah I had the version for the original DS, a fun match-three type puzzler.

The more I look, the more I'm convinced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are sequels rather than remakes.

Ooh didn't realise these had been officially announced (though looking online "announced" might be a strong word). I'd be happy with either a remake or a B/W-esq sequel to be honest. Even a remake would expand on the region to some degree.

Well if you look at the description
the new titles promise to take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world.
Compared to how they described heart gold/soulsilver
Relive the Adventure or experience it for the first time

Wee bit of an update for this thread

- The Pokemon Trading Card Game for gameboy colour is now available on the nintendo E-shop, and it totally holds up. Lot shorter than I remember, but hey ho.
- Pokemon art academy is also available. Its probably quite expensive for everyones taste, but I love it.
- More Alpha Ruby and Omega Sapphire stuff. Mega Metagross and Mega sableye confirmed, secret bases and contests also confirmed to make a return, and we've been shown some gym leader redesigns.
- We also got a release date for it, 28th November, while our American cousins get it on the 21st for some reason, though according to the rumours, they're staggering the release cos of the colossal leaks of XY that came from europeans with early copies of the game.

Pokémon noob here, quite hooked on Y now after initially struggling to get into it. Many other 3DS Pokémon players then? Ridiculous how addictive this game gets once you break through the first few hours. Just got my 5th gym badge

Don't wanna oversell this to anyone, but Omega Ruby is really good. I'm enjoying it much more than I enjoyed XY, shall we say, theres some new stuff in there thats really neat.

To be honest I've loved every entry up to the original R/S and every entry since (including Emerald oddly enough) and with the improvements I've no doubt that I'll love OR/AS. I'm replaying X and Y simultaneously at the moment partly in preparation for Alpha/Omega, partly to entertain my son and partly for a chance to distract myself from some stuff going on. What features are you impressed with thus far (put in spoilers in case anyone wants the surprise)?

Well

- the music is really bang on. I love it.
- its paced a lot better than XY, I feel anyway.
- no lumiose city
- no annoying roller skates
- pokemon variety is better, at least at the stage of the game I'm at.
- dexnav is a really feature, I won't spoil exactly what it is, but it makes finding cool pokemon easier and funner.
- its the same engine as XY, but it looks nicer to me. More colourful maybe.

Awww... I liked Lumiose and the roller skates. :)

Have they fixed the issues with frame rates at the start of battles sometimes dropping?

Or a good engine over-taxed perhaps?

Its not very detailed things I've seen it on though. I rarely use the 3D, and often its not double or horde battles, its just one on one, and you can see the animation stuttering. Horde battles and the like are even worse.

Don't know why I'm complaining though, I think its brilliant, much better than XY, although I suppose its technically cheating since its a remake etc.

So this is kind of a spoiler, but its all around the internet so I won't spoiler it.
No battle frontier in the game, but the data for it, along with numerous references and music tracks pertaining to it, is in the game. DLC or patch?

Theres some pretty good reasoning behind the idea that we might not get a main series pokemon game this year. Which would be good, it'd be nice for it to take a break, although I'd love Battle frontier DLC for ORAS.

I think it's a stylistic thing, but I could be wrong.
