Osman-Aka "Cannon-Dancer"(Arcade emulator)

Ok a little background for this first,I follow a certain channel on youtube that's been doing a week of Strider to celebrate the series and the release of the new game by Double Helix,in one of the episodes they showed a bunch of Strider knockoffs and Osman is one of them, now I never cared much for Strider, though seeing the soviet parlament join-up to became a giant dragon wielding a Hammer-Scythe was really cool, and more historically acurate than company of Heroes 2(sorry I wanted to say this for awhile now anyway fuck that game and the people who made it,moving on),but the moment I saw Osman I knew I had to play it.

In Osman you play as Kirin the assassin who has mastered the secret art in his quest across all of cyberpunk arabia and beyond to defeat Abudullah the Slaver the mysterious force that has put the world under it's heel and turned goverments into puppets...or something like that im not really sure it's not at all clear, the sprites that represent all of this on the other hand are among some of the most psychodelic visuals I've seen in a game it looks like something straight out a 70's movie it's just incredible to see cyberpunk,middle-east and esoteric aeasthethics all mixed together.
The gameplay well,it's like Strider you walk, you jump, you attack and you can slide.Enemies die pretty fast like they should but you cant get carelees because you only have 3 hits at the begining of the game but you can upgrade it by finding power-ups,some power-ups also increase your level(indicated ny the color of your pants of course) which ups yor damage, range and how cool your attacks look, also did I say that while Strider needs a energy sword to defeat mere bounty hunters Kirin just uses his bare fists to destroy giant robots because he's just that good?

So yeah go play this game,it's among the list of games to play before you die and for good reason it's an arcade game so it's really short and it's not super hard either the last level can be a pain but nothing impossible hell I did it and Im terrible at old 2D games,I'll leave a video of a longplay of it here I dare you to see the first stage of this and not want to play this:

Ah! I've always wanted to play this but never have. Will add it to my MAME list.

02/01 - The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
06/01 - Final Fantasy XIII-2
07/01 - Super Mario 3D Land
08/02 - Persona 3: Portable
09/02 - Final Fantasy XIII-2: Requiem of the Goddess (DLC)
10/02 - The Wolf Among Us - Episode 1: Faith
11/02 - Telltale's The Walking Dead: All That Remains
12/02 - The Wolf Among Us - Episode 2: Smoke and Mirrors
22/02 - Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

Hmmm... I don't care too much about what the popular consensus is of LR:FFXIII online; I absolutely loved it. Genuinely upset when it ended, but there is new game plus to look forward to at some point.

Don't worry about it, the popular consensus of all the FFXIII games online is one that hasn't even played any of them.

...another experience that I've really enjoyed. Though boy-oh-boy; even a bite sized chunk of TLoU is emotionally draining!

Finished the latest instalment of the DKCR series. It's an incredible game with an amazing soundtrack. It could do with being a bit more experimental with its gameplay as it really does feel like an expansion to the first Returns game but when it's of this quality, you can't really argue. Top banana!

Enjoyed this. Atmospheric with a compellingly told story. One bit of the story didn't add up for me but I won't spoil it here!

Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)

Bloated and self-indulgent. Loved it.

Spoiler: show
04/01 - Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (9 hours, 10 minutes)
12/02 - Contrast
15/02 - Metal Gear Rising (5 hours, 27 mins - Medium - 2nd playthrough)
24/02 - Dust: An Elysian Tail (~13 hours, 30 mins)

Great game. Really enjoyable combat and generally great kinaesthetic design all around. Exactly what I like in a game. Nice art style, although I have to admit I didn't find it the best I've seen. Still noteworthy though. The animation of Dust himself was a highlight. I rather liked the story too. Had some pretty good voice acting, and I quite liked Fidget, when by all rights she should have been insufferable. So I appreciate that. Some later moments of the story were actually quite well done too, I think.

23/02 - The Last of Us: Left Behind (DLC)
25/02 - Diablo III (Normal - Witch Doctor)

I completed D3 for the first time last year, I found the experience somewhat lacking. I assume this is due to the Wizard not fitting my playstyle, playing as the Witch Doctor felt like a different game with an entirely different strategies. With this in mind I deem each character and difficulty as an individual game completion in Diablo 3 now. Something I would not have done before.

Mighty Switch Force(3DS)-Since Im still stuck on Crimson Shroud I decided to give this a go Im glad I did it was really fun!The game reminds me a bit of Megaman X especially in how it doesnt hold your hand, levels are pretty quick but fun to do,not the Last one though fuck that level, and the game always reminds you that you should be clearing them faster, the one problem I have is how sometimes you cant judge if your gonna get crushed or not by a switch it felt pretty arbitrary at times especially on that last level, but other than that really fun game, great cartoony artstyle and a awesome soundtrack.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "arbitrary". I agree that the difficulty ramped up considerably towards the end, but I never felt like the game was breaking its own rules.

Great game, though. If you liked it, the sequel is even better :)

I mean that sometimes when it's just your foot near the block you think you can clear it but the you get smashed but other times you can do it no problem, maybe it's my poor eyesight with the screen size that makes it hard to judge.I still gonna play this one for a bit trying to improve my time and i still have the bonus missions but after that Im definitly going for the sequel.

Oh yeah, it can be tricky to tell when you're in a safe space in between blocks.

Nearly at the end of Feb and there's still only one game on my list... Hearthstone has a lot to answer for...
