Jazzpunk! One of the best "walk about" games largely down to the sub-genre it revels in. Comedy games are a big pull for me and this is one of the best. Absolutely mental.
I don't want to spoil the surprises the game has in store but if you like Quake 3 and/or WaveRace 64, you'll laugh at least once!
I've know played and finished both shenmue games. What a load of tosh. They felt fairly unique, sure. But I didn't enjoy any of it. Can't think a sequel would be any better.

Maybe a bit rougher around the edges than I hoped but I was very glad to be back pointing and clicking with George and Nico.

Super Stardust Delta - (Vita) £7.99
I got the hero of the galaxy trophy to say I've completed all the planets but I'm far from done with the game. The best I've played in the Stardust series and one of the best games I've tried on the Vita.
Guacamelee! (PS3/Vita) £7.99
Played up to the last boss on PS3 and got so frustrated with the colour coded shields that I completely gave up (I'm colour blind by the way).
I never thought I'd finish it but when I was given a Vita I saw I had Guacamelee available to download so I gave it another try. Synced my save and bashed my head against a wall for a few hours before the credits.
Other than the colour stuff this game would have hit my top 10 last year easy. It nailed everything it set out to do in the gameplay department and the graphics and music are great. I understand the humour is too internety for some people but it didn't bother me. Easy to ignore.
Broken Age Act 1 - (PC) (About $30 including some tip jar contributions)
I loved it. I'm looking forward to some excellent pay off in act 2. If it lives up to my expectations I'll be shocked if it's not something I play again and again for years to come.
Even just the art puts it up with some of my favourite games ever.
Shadow Of The Colossus (PS3)
I can't fault it. I can't imagine any other games coming close to this in quality for a while. I have no idea why it's taken me so long to actually finish it. I played about half way through on the PS2 and got rid when the PS3 version was released and only recently had the urge to put any real time into it.
Probably the same reason I can't play any half life games. So much critical acclaim can be stressful to me as a player.
Mario and Luigi Dream Team Bros (3DS)
I've loved all of these games but this is the first one I've finished. It's probably just me but either the combat is ridiculously hard or I am terrible at it.
Either way it's a cool game well worth playing. I'm happy not to play any more of it though.
GTAV (PS3)
Fantastic looking world, much improved but still a bit ropey controls and I enjoyed some of the character switching stuff but I was very happy to see the end credits and trade it in.
Dark Souls II (PS3)
Substantially easier than the earlier games as they gave me way too many souls and removed the death penalty but I still loved every minute. The victors stone is there if I want it to be harder.
I know I'll still be playing this along with Demon's Souls and Dark Souls for many years to come.
Super Mario 3D World (Wii U)
Seen the credits so I've not really finished but I'm counting it. I didn't enjoy it as much as 3D Land but I had a great time with some of the bonkers levels and I'm really glad I bought a Wii U to play it.
I hope to see a new single player focused game in the future as I think some of the levels suffered in making sure there was room for four.
South Park Stick of Truth (PS3)
I haven't watched South Park for a few years but this was a great way to ease back into it. It was a bit too easy if anything but I didn't really come to the game looking for a challenge so I was happy with walking through most of it.
Canada was a great moment.
Trials Evolution Gold (PC)
Seen the credits but there's a lot of bronze in there. I might have reached by limit.
Great game but I shouldn't need to knock it down to 720p to get a steady framerate.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within (PC) (Normal Iron Man)
I've started this game a few times but have always been a bit too precious about losing any counties so I would just quit but this time I just kept pushing through.
It felt a bit easy by the end but I'll be starting a harder run soon.
Dark souls 2(PC)-Well that was an anti-climatic ending.To be honest the entire "second half" of the game dragged on forever,dont get me wrong it's still a great game and Im already planning a new game plus run but to say this has the same spark and polish as the previous titles would be a lie,it's clear that some of the soul of the series is gone and the whole mash-up between Demon's souls and Dark souls didnt work well here and the whole game suffered for it,if I can say something DS2 has over it's predecessors it's that it never gets to the low points of Dark and Demons there's no blightown,bed of chaos or Capra Demon here but at the same time it cant reach the heights of those 2 games either.Like I said though judged on its own it's a great game and probably one of the best this year.
